@Riot These are facts: Since the rework Shen is played less, wins less, and is played in less roles.
How does that constitute a successful rework to you?

I very much miss the old shen myself, loved playing him as support for the global supporting pressure.
He was better in every lane before than he is now, so what the hell was the point?
That's a sad life, not being able to play Shen anymore like the way we used to....
I was a main of his kit before, I know the pain bud.
They're aware that his rework wasn't the most successful and that he needs a bit of help currently.
I'm mistaken, I reread the quote I was thinking of and they were talking about thematics.
They seem to think he's balanced right now.. Which is rather questionable imo.
When riot reworks a champion it's not about making them win more, be played more or make them be played in more roles. It's about bringing them to an balanced and more healthy point. Shen before the rework had a pretty stale and too safe playstyle with his sustained point and click Q. The rework for that gave him more damage and utility for the removal of his safety. And riot just simply doesn't like champion to be too safe, Lux as example got nerfed because of her lane safety. Shen for that became more than a Q spam bot. Some People may dislike him now but he is in a more balanced state for sure.
There are some reworks however that not really hit the nail to make them more balanced. Ryze, Mordekaiser, Skarner or Evelynn as examples. These are back on the rework board for more than just texture updates and slight kit changes because they need more of an update to be balanced and fun to play/play against again.
i actually feel Shen is in an ok state. He still mostly feels like himself i still play him. I just wish they would take away that dumb ass swoed mechanic. It is the only thing hindering him its stupid easy to dodge takes way to long to get where its going, and feels retarded for the most part.Shen would be served better just by taking the sword out. Q then would be a hit damage buff with a slow and they could just make his w activate where he is instead of trying to drag that pain in the ass sword around. Then he would probally be good and back to being useful. Yes still no sustain but i just take the keystone that gives you sustain evry 4 seconds problem mostly solved
You know, I'd probably hate his rework significantly less than I do now if there wasn't some awful minigame attached to it for absolutely no reason. It's not about playing the opponent, it's about playing against yourself.
agreed 100 percent bud
