And so I first time Kayle in Ranked and get promoted to Silver after a few hard carries. [sg-lux-2] Why do people say don't do this?
Because you can't always rely on someone hard carrying you while you learn a new champion.
Except I hard-carried with Kayle,
SOOOO IIII MEEEEEAN
not everyone is as truly exalted as you are, m'lord
Because one exception doesn't disprove a statistic.
underrated post
all that means is you got lucky.
try that with leblanc, yasuo, riven, shaco, hell even singed.
and anecdotal evidence means nothing.
Because it is a hideous idea and results in feeding your ass off.
You got a couple lucky games, which is not indicative of anything.
Because most of the time, people inexperienced with a Champion won't perform well. When you go into ranked, the expectation is that you are playing your best and pulling out your most experienced picks. Someone picking a Champion for the first time, on average, is going to under-perform compared to someone who has hundreds of games on the same Champion.
And maybe it worked out for you, but I would say statistically speaking, it doesn't work out more often than it does.
People want to win in ranked, and having teammates experienced with their Champions is going to help that. That's why people don't want others first timing Champions in ranked.
I think knowledge is just as important as "experience" when it comes to this game, though. If you do your research, you will more than likely outperform anybody who's had even 20 games with the champion.
I think knowledge is just as important as "experience" when it comes to this game, though.
Yeah, you said it yourself. "As important". Meaning experience IS important too, and no a first timer won't likely outperform someone on their main champ and from a comparable MMR.
Anyway, good job with that baity thread, people sure are replying. Not sure why you think it's fun, but well... Personally I just think it makes you look like an ass, but you do you, I guess.
I'm an ass for competantly outperforming everyone I'm against with my first time using a champion?
Then what does that say about those that underperform with champions that they've played for years?
Experience is important, but knowledge can make up for the lack thereof. You don't need experience if you do your research. Experience only matters if you're...well, an idiot.
Yeah, the baits are really becoming too big for me, I can't swallow them at this point. I'm out.
Enjoy your -50 Fake Internet Points, I suppose.
Lol cause kayle is broken rn. Do it with singed and i will be impressed
I did, some years ago.
SOOOOO IIIII MEEEEEAN
In that case duo with me pls
Hell no I hate going duo unless it's with my friendo. I should probably make more league friends but tbh I've been playing for 7 years and have only consistently played with 2 people.
Lol cause kayle is broken rn. Do it with singed and i will be impressed
he did say promoted to silver so it goes to show you the bronze mentality LOL
Because bronze is so bad you could pick a cannon minion as your champ and hard carry.
Hol up fam don't insult Cannon Joe like that. He does his job 100% without fail. He'd be Master if he were allowed to do his own thing.
This is why the boards aren't taken seriously.

I'unno, man. Hell, after the first game I already figured out the basics.
Maybe it's becuase I've been playing this game since Season 3. It's really not that difficult to actually learn a champion after like one or two games when you understand the ins and outs of the game itself.

Won't work with a second champ, I assure you. And that's why you have norms; no risk to anyone and you can try champs in a mildly realistic setting.
It's worked with every new or updated champion for the past 5 seasons lol After Season 4, applying experience to new kits became easy.

In theory, yes, it DOES work like that. In practice, especially in solo queue, it's considered too risky, and you might be slated for griefing (playing/acting in a way that makes it harder for your teammates to perform optimally in game).[slayer-jinx-unamused]
That's almost impossible if you know the game, though.

That's still incredibly generic and does NOT excuse anything. Afterall, you can know everything about the game, but if it's a game that is everchanging, it's essentially pointless. Not to mention there are exceptions to this rule where some champs just don't apply to a given norm (i.e. Fiddlesticks?)
If you believe that this game changes so often and extremely that basic gameplay techniques don't apply, I have some bad news for you...
Basic gameplay techniques have been applicable since I began this game, and if you can properly perform even the basics then you'll play well regardless of who you're playing, regardless of what experience with that champion you have. There's a reason why most, if not all, pro players will say the same thing:
First you need to learn the basics.
Ever since I actually took the time to learn the basics, it's been smooth sailings...at least, in regards to my own gameplay. Solo queue is solo queue, after all.

Basic gameplay HAS to remain the same, otherwise the game itself changes. It's the variables outside that is what should be of concern; runes, items, opponents, champions, teammates, gold prices and rewards, objectives. It's not like Pros become pros by "learning the basics"; they learn the basics...and go beyond. Find positions and roles to specialize in, builds that work, make contingency strategies if things go bad, understand potential counters, etc, etc.
What you declared was "I want to be a burden and have my team babysit me or I'll feed". And baby, that's not good learning.
No, that's in no way, shape nor form what I declared; that's what your inner toxicity led you to assume. That's the reason why so many toxic players exist in this game's playerbase, and it's a shame. The only advice I have is, get over it.
Just so you know, pros are pros because they have teams to play with. What's a pro player without a team aside from someone in solo queue like the rest? Trust me, there are a lot of players better than pros who aren't pros themselves, just because they don't sign with a team.

Says the guy who overgeneralizes, which is a cheap means to try and shy away and bs challenges by exagerating claims and reality. That's the reason why so many trolls exist in the playerbase and it's a shame. The only advice I have is face it and get real. By the way, going roundabout with the point and calling me wrong and explaining why by insulting me is not an effective counterargument.
And guess what? Not everyone has a team, and pros tend to make strats together so as to maximize they're overall effectiveness. And in many cases, some pros started on their own or in other teams; in other words, pro players kinda HAVE to be strong on their own anyway. There are also hams who exaggerate claims to make themselves sound better, or pros don't really care much for the limelight. Overgeneralization for the loss. [zombie-brand-clap]
[sg-lux-2] I insulted you?? I'm sorry that you don't comprehend basic statements???
I'm just saying, don't make assumptions based on your own toxicity.

To be fair, you don't seem to understand gamer etiquette of not unduly risking your teams chances by playing remade hi-risk champs, so I don't see why I should bother accepting your rules of "toxicity".
Assuming, criticizing, and stereotyping someone based on the most negative circumstance your mind could possibly think of is almost certainly the product of toxicity, but please correct me if negative stereotyping isn't toxic behavior.

Assuming it's okay to bring new champs without playtesting? Criticizing those who do not approve the practice? Stereotyping yourself as upperechelon? Pot calling Kettle black.[zombie-brand-facepalm]

The champs tend to come out OP. And you are low enough elo that your inexperience doesn't get punished. Enjoy the wins. But understand the odds.
It's difficult to "understand the odds", tbh. It's like trying to explain the risks of gambling to someone that's never lost at slots.
Dude, I looked you up, your unranked. SOOOOO, why do people lie about their ranks?
You looked up one account that I haven't used in a year.

Then why not post from there? Or are you lying about it all? Such deception, if I am not wrong, is reportable.
Why would I use any other account aside from the one I'm known for and spent the most time on?
Because it's what you want?

So we can verify your claims from your match history; I'm pretty sure only 2% of users (and that is VERY generous estimate) know you on this account; the rest of us don't.
There is not a single person on these Boards that don't know me by this account, because it's the only account I've used on Boards for the past 7 years.
I mean, I can see why they didn't like it. Good on you for hard carrying, but if that was me, id feed my ass off playing a champ for the first time, especially in ranked.
In my defense, I actually do my research into a champ--following the development, Spotlights, etc--before they champion or update even releases. So it's not like I have completely 0 knowledge of the champion.
If you're following up on champion release info, and reading champion bio/kit functionality, and actually researching the champion.. then anyone who can play league of legends can play that champion at their given ELO. The problem is trust.
If your team doesn't trust you can play your champ, you're likely to lose. No teamwork.
Reminds me of those duo junglers that only help the lane that they're duo with.
