The Bard ult that zhonya'ed our entire team right before the enemy team dumped the enemy aoe's on us

TaoistMaster··26 votes·4,024 views

makes up for the 19 other bard ults that did nothing, or screwed our team over.

that was amazing.

the MF on the enemy team said something along the lines of "great, the ONE good bard ult..."

seen some good "catches" from bard ults. rarely do i see the RT to protect a number of allies from huge enemy damage.

I had one against me that was pretty epic. Was jg, going dragon. Had both bot lane and the mid lane with me at level 8. Bard ults us when the dragon is about 1/3rd health, comes in with their adc/mid/jg and melt us all before we know what's going on and then snag dragon. Bard's got a lot of potential for those who are good with him, but he's going to suck for anyone else. He's got a ridiculously high skillcap like some other champions and his utility is impressive because of it.

To be fair, that ult inflicts some serious damage (its got a base of 1000 at rank 3 if it hits in its entirety) if the enemy isn't able to get out of the way of it, not to mention it can also deal up to 384% bonus AD worth of magic damage (at the very least it will be doing 1000 (+150% AP) (+216% AD in bonus magic damage) ).

If the enemy team can keep you locked down for the full duration, you're pretty much screwed.

Did they nerf her damage? Because last I heard she was actually lane-bully class and scaled decently well. Only thing holding her back is the fact she takes skill. (Scratch that, my bad) that she doesn't have a dash/hard-CC/cleanse.

Had an enemy Bard who cancelled his teammates teleport cause he ulted their tower

You have to remember that they can save enemies when used incorrectly though. happened to me as karthus a while back >.>

A while back? He was JUST released lol

Maybe his "a while back" was on PBE. Or it was 2 days ago. Sometimes, days tend to stretch far longer than usual.

I played him dozens of times while he was on the PBE =P

I managed a great bard ult about two dozen games ago. They were all clumped together, Jax had just ulted and readied his E, etc. Basically they were about to engage and slaughter us. I threw ult and got every single one of them, allowing my team to get cooldowns up, surround them, and rip their throats out.

I've also had some major backfire ones, like ulting an escaping Lee who was being chased by Shyvana. Lee flashed and so did Shyv, so I ended up ulting her... ;-; It's a tough ult to place. Incredibly tough.

His ultimate is one of the most inconsistent things in the game.

It is also one of the most powerful. Maybe the single most powerful; on paper, an aoe zhonyas that effects turrets and even baron is catastrophic.

But....

we've all seen it do nothing.

I imagine pros will put Bard to good use.

He is no doubt a Korean champion not really anything else

So...what? MF missed her ult?

In most cases if they were going to drop their burst, they'd just surround you while you can't move. Honestly even once the skillcap is reached I feel like bard is crap. Like lots of other champs can do what he does better. His ult is extremely situational, His stun is one of the least reliable in the game, His shrines heal for very little past level 6, and there's rarely a safe place to build them up after that. In low ELO games, nobody even knows what his journey does. Leaving lane to collect 5 chimes for 35 damage isn't even remotely worth it.

He has a massive list of issues...

This is ignoring the part where his chimes just LOVE to show up in the enemy jungle, currently.

He is saying that the bard dropped the ult right before the enemy ults hit and they wasted them because of the bard Ult.

It really seems better suited for disengage or tower diving than as an offensive spell. If it where just a suppression and you could still deal damage though it (because it is a suppression that also gives invincibility), then maybe it would be good offensively, but he is a caretaker, not a combat mage so this works on him.

I think most people just aren't even looking for that opportunity. Which makes you wonder why they're playing him in the first place, if they aren't interested in lateral thinking.

I don't even think he has that big a skill cap, people just don't know what they should and should not be doing or they try to get too fancy with it.

All you really have to do with the ult is make the teamfight a 5v3 ... just don't screw up and make it a 3v5 instead. You can just ult their carries while you melt the tanks or such.

You throw one little ult that catches two of your team-mates, turning a winning teamfight into a losing one, and they soon forget all about the 19 that you DID hit well...

How is sending this junk a good use of time?

I had a really good Bard ult me perfectly the other day as Nocturne.

Enemy team was doing baron, and just as I ult'd in and auto'd smited Baron to steal it, Bard's ult saved me from a HUGE amount of enemy damage, and we won soon after.

It was pretty great

People dont understand how to use Bard's ultimate. They use it too much to prtoect alllies from damage. It should only be used for such when you know the enemy cant stop the damage they are about to unleash. It should be used to set up an initation and CC.

I like to ult the enemies in the back, so they don't deal damage to my allies when they focus the tanks like jackasses.

Bard is going to become a problem. Mark my words.

I played against Jinx and Bard last night and it was the first decent Bard I'd seen. Now, it was also like my third game ever as Sivir, so I could have landed a lot more E's when the two of them tried to CC me, but other champs are going to have an issue with this guy. If you're in the wave, he can stun you through creep. If you stay out of the wave, she can shock you. If he stuns you, she can drop her chompers and you're CC'd for like 2.5 or 3 seconds. It's brutal.

Trying to get away? He ults you. Trying to engage? He ults you. I'm not looking forward to playing more skilled Bards, but if I face him I'm taking Sivir or Cait, enemy and ally team comp allowing.
