I REALLY hate Tristana's ability placement. Why the hell is her rocket jump on her W? It makes me constantly rocket jump randomly every time I use her because I think I'm using her Q. Her ability placement feels completely different from any other champion in League and the way they normally handle ability placement. It's completely infuriating whenever I play her.

What ability placements would you want then?
W has always been attack speed steroids pretty much for all ADCs, so rocket jump on either Q or E, not sure which would feel better, possibly E, and attack speed steroid on W.
To be similar to most champions, Tristana's explosive charge thing should be on Q I'd think, with W as her attack speed steroid, and rocket jump on E.
OtterlyLost1 votesI've had this problem, just on different champs, lol. I cant say it bothers me but I play alot of tristana so using her jump is muscle memory. There are champions I get the same feeling about though and struggle to play because their abilities seem counter intuitively placed to me. Camille's Q and E come to mind; I mix them up all the time

Exactly. There are very FEW abilities that are dashes on W, if any aside from Tristana. The only dash on a champion's W that I can think of is Tristana(aside from Nidalee tiger form but she has 6 different abilities and is already unlike most League champions) in fact. Sure maybe there are some movement speed boosts on W, but those again, are pure utility, not anything that really does anything specific to your character.
