What would happen if Yorick was free for a week?
Riot tried to warn us. We wouldn't listen. We begged and begged and FINALLY Yorick free week happens. What are the consequences?

Yorick has been off the free champion rotation for over a year. He's not off the sale rotation though, so you might have thought you saw him there.
He's been off the free rotation for almost three years now (i know i'm necroing, but still)
All for one Yorick?
I think a lot of people would want to play him to know what all the fuss was about. Some people wouldn't care, others would think he's a new champion that Riot forgot to promote, and inevitably some new player would fall in love with him their first day playing League.
Tons of QQ from player base about how unfun his kit is. (I half agree, and I main him) The issues with his kit are the lack of opportunity for counter play, by the time his ghouls disappear he can nearly recast them again, basically keeping his passive up nonstop and because of that the static free damage reduction he maintains is rough. Of course that's based around his Tear of the Goddess build, which has definitive weaknesses that most people just don't understand. I could go into depth on how to beat Yorick but why bother. . . me and like 10 other people are the only ones who play him often.
The real issues about his kit are simply that it's not a matter of when to cast what, but simply to spam them. (which is completely wrong but this is the general mindset and what really separates good Yorick players from bad ones) The biggest consequence to making him free for a week though. . . is the massive amount of posts about how he needs a rework. If you don't get that feedback you don't feel as compelled to fix him, it's why Urgot is where he is at as well.
