Azir's CDR And The New Patch

The CDR passive removal just feels like his identity is dying, please don't do this, the change feels so different from the Azir I love :( The sacrifice of a part of his identity for a change that hardly alters his early power just doesn't feel right, and could even open new avenues of power that could be too strong.

what does having built-in attack speed for building cdr have to do with his identity

Have you even played Azir before?

i'll ask again: what does gaining one stat for building another stat have to do with azir's identity

what part of this being in his passive says "i am the emperor of shurima and i command a legion of soldiers to stretch shurima's influence to the ends of the earth"

for example:

vlad has a skill that allows him to sustain himself off of the enemy's blood because he's a hemomancer

jinx kills towers quickly because she's trigger-happy and hellbent on destruction (which is why she gets excited)

what part of azir's identity requires him to get attack speed for building cdr?

Basically, getting CDR means you can spam soldiers(his entire kit). Getting attack speed makes his soldiers(his entire kit) more useful.

That's kit synergy though. There's immense synergy with his kit in his current passive but "identity" seems like the wrong word to use. Azir still does all of the stuff that forms his core identity and his gameplay theme with the change.

Oh no, you have to build attack speed to get attack speed. ITS LIKE NASHOR'S HAS TO BE BOUGHT NOW (after it has been buffed) EDIT: Did not realize his CDR/AS passive was shifted to his W.

Nashor's will never be built on Azir.

That is a terrible item for both stats and slot efficiency for him.

He isnt losing attack speed, he is getting it from skilling up his W, which means he no longer can build for it when he wants it.

Nashor's is viable since it gives him alot of attackspeed however he sacrifices this for mana regen in morello's. It is matchup dependent.

item 3165 is still going to be his core item. Just wont get stupid scaling from it.

Do we even know if it going through? Until I see it in the official Patch Notes these topics would feel....kind of pointless in my opinion.

Definitely. The designer in charge of the changes confirmed it today.

Yes, it is going through.

I mean the CDR aspect of Azir Ahmad always been a big part of him that set him apart from other mages.

Good, his identity as a ranged, dps, burst, disengage, engage, control, kite mage is being changed. Thank god. Riot clearly intended him as a dps mage when they created him but his burst is high enough that you can just stack a shit ton of AP on him and 1 shot people.
