Champion Select Trolls....The Worst Feeling in League - Make Dodging Necessary

I am getting kinda sick of needing to dodge due to incredibly common trolls in champ select. Just now, for the I lost track of it-th time, this happened, probably a pretty familiar thing.

We all load in to champ select(ranked) and people call pref's. Two people want mid, one says ~"Mid pref" the other just says "mid". One is first pick, one is last pick, pretty clear where this is going. The first guy locks in LB, ok, and then it happens...

Last pick guy: Ok whatever, we will duo mid, idc if ur first pick im going mid lol

And then that sinking feeling starts...

Once it gets to that guys pick, he locks in Teemo with clarity and clairvoyance and says "im not trolling fk u I said mid we are duo mid now"

That kind of thing.

Its either dodge, or loose alot of LP due to the troll who just wants to ruin the game for everyone else. Obviously, I dodge. I would be okay with this if not for the fact that because I dodge, I CANNOT REPORT THIS PLAYER, so he gets away scott free, having successfully made 4 other people miserable, and there is absolutely no way to stop this guy from queuing up again and continuing to ruin the game.

tl;dr, please make a way to report in champ select, or after dodge.

Situations like this suck. And it's definitely frustrating that there's no built-in way to address the situation. But you can always submit a Support Ticket with whatever information you may have (names/time of the lobby, screenshots, etc.). They won't be able to tell you what actions they take, of course, but it will at least put it in front of someone.

They've already said they hope to address this with the new champ select for ranked (which I assume to be the new ranked team builder). However, it won't completely get rid of the problem, which is something they should be planning for. It would be nice to hear from Riot about it right now, but I'm sure they're waiting until the right time to post a thread about it (new tribunal/ranked team builder).

Teams should be able to have a kick-vote, in order to just be able to kick trollers from the champion select

I feel like dodging should be allowed on any draft mode. The game hasn't started yet, and better than wasting 20-40 minutes of everyone's time on the rift you wasted 3 minutes in champion select. It really hurts nobody (besides yourself) to doge.

im pulling out. i give. i dont have the energy and would rather practice winning troll/trolled games than type about it. this is as exhausting as playing a trolled game. they got me to filibuster myself and i yield

since it was a ranked game it was the first pick's fault for not being diplomatic with last pick regarding where they both would go

The simplest solution would be to allow player reporting when you dodge at champ select. When you choose to leave champ select a window will pop up and you can select players to report. Then you can pick a reason:

  • Locked in a role already taken
  • Threatened to feed
  • Threatened to afk
  • Refusing to communicate
  • Etc

Then you get a time penalty as usual... HOWEVER.

For each person you report that gets punished, you receive a slight decrease in time penalty for dodging matches. What this means is right now you get like 6 minutes penalty for first dodge... but say you report enough people accurately... now maybe you only wait 4 minutes for first dodge, 25 minutes for second dodge, etc...

This way you still can't just dodge every game, but due to helping clean up the playerbase of champ select trolls, your punishment for dodging gets reduced.

The troll player gets reported, and you get to potentially have decreased wait times on future dodges. Works for everyone. False reports could result in longer wait penalties.

Honestly this would be super easy to check on Riot's side. Say PlayerA reports PlayerB for locking in a role already taken.

Riot could look at the pick order and chat log to see that PlayerA called mid and he was first pick, and PlayerB locked in a mid champ and said nothing, as his teammates questioned his pick and asked him where he was going. Boom, easy punishment.

This works for people who troll by locking in a champ that could play multiple roles and then not saying anything until another player locks in the role he wants. "I am going mid! Isn't it obvious! I picked Fizz!" "But... some people play Fizz top... or even jungle. We can't read your mind..."

every time I am a 4th or 5th picker, I want to dodge the game. 10% winning rate When I am the last 2 picker!!!!

Got one of the "mid or feed" guys who actually got mid without anyone else flaming and STILL proceeded to feed.
