The Death of Grevious Wounds.

So with the coming changes to Miss Fortune's kit, yet another instance of GW has been removed for better or for worse.

Its kind of been a trend that we've been seeing, removing GW slowly but surely.

From the loss of Executioner's calling, to the removal of kit Wounds like Fizz Tristana and now MissFortune. So what about it? Well Let's put on our thinking caps here. Why is Grevious wounds a mechanic? To counteract lifedrain/regen tanking a laVladimir DrMundo Singed etc.

At least that's what it's suppose to do. and yet here we are, with a total of 4 instances where GW can be applied.

Champions who still hold GW in their kits are Katarina Varus , so there's 2. Items that hold GW are AP Exclusive with the only option being item 3165 while opponents are below 40% hp. And Summoner summoner 14 rounds out the list of GW Application options. So do you see a problem here?

Half of these application options are AP Exclusive, one is Summoner reliant, and for AD Champions, Your only bet to beat out life-tanks is either to keep someone in Varus 's W, or to have someone on your team take ignite.

While as a mechanic GW does have some problem areas, there still needs to be viable ways to counteract healing, and with various buffs to healing champions in the form of item 3065 and Post-work Soraka 's GW Cleanse, its no wonder that Vladimir is strong right now, or even that he's being nerfed. I love both of these champions to death, but with the loss of GW application options, sustain champions like Vlad, like Soraka, like Mundo, like Swain, are all being invariably stealth buffed, and their core mechanics are having less and less counterplay options.

So What do you guys think? Does sustain need more barriers? Should riot re-introduce an AD GW item? or is there a bigger case for keeping the whole Burst vs. Sustain issue just that?
