PSA: If you're a laner, please don't start the game by just going to your tower and sitting there

Basically title. The amount of (ranked) games that start off with my top/mid laners just going to their tower and standing there is absurd. There are so many better things to do before minions spawn, such as

Guarding jungle entrances
Warding river brush to check for lvl 2 crabs (and thus gaining knowledge on enemy jg pathing)
Warding own camps/enemy camps
Set up a cheese

I don't understand the downvote trolls. You can tell they're trolls because I was here when Karu's comment was here and it was at about +6 votes. Not one person has commented giving feedback. I agree wholeheartedly with avoiding sitting under turret, as it doesn't give you any benefit. Why throw away free vision? It's a good tip.

If anyone listened, this thread would have a purpose. Spamming pings, spamming ward trinkets, and typing in chat that we need wards isn't enough to make them listen. So nothing will help these people unfortunately

Game is so toxic people just instamute on getting in.. and I can't really blame them. The community and Riot has had 10 years to get their collective poop in a group, and yet nothing changes.

It's utterly stupid to ward before minions spawn, because none of what you've said, outside of potentially being aware of an invade, will be possible to know because the ward will expire before any of that actually goes into motion. It's a much safer bet as a laner to hold on to your ward until the minions are well underway - especially in Bot lane - so that you can better control your own lane shrubbery and keep vision longer on potential ganking points such as river bushes. If you blow your wards before minions spawn, they're not going to help you evade a gank because they will be gone and you will be blind by the time junglers are ready to gank.

Additionally, if you are not part of a 4 or 5 man group, guarding, invades, and "cheese" are incredibly risky without the coordination that pre-made teams offer (and I know you're not in a 4 or 5 man if you're complaining to your other laners on how they should be starting their game).
