Something I want to note about the Ryze spotlight

In the spotlight Ryze kills Karthus from 75% hp with just a single combo at level 5 and his mana barely moved. Does anybody else find that just a little bit of a problem considering his early game is supposed to be his weak point as he doesn't really fall off late game.

Of course we don't know how far ahead he was or his build at that point, but the thought that he can use 25% of his mana only to burst someone for 3/4 of their hp that early is just a little bit scary when he has a team fight ult that scales with the game.
