Lets Talk Nemesis

Lets talk Nemesis Mode. What about it surprised you? How did you fare playing champions that you probably never played before? Which champions did you begin to appreciate? Which did you develop a hatred for?

Take a look at these statistics. I wish we could know ban rates, but it's easy to guess that Galio, Evelynn, and Urgot were of the top bans.

Sure, the unrealistic team comps of mostly melee and support champions lend itself to the idea that this can't be applied to the actual balance of the game, but maybe with this "reverse composition" of sorts, what have we learned?

I've learned Poppy deserves more respect. A lot more. I played only a single game with her, but I was surprised how easy it was to turret dive and teamfight.

The mode got boring really fast because people don't know how to pick champions for the enemy properly...

Your supposed to give them an entire team comp that just can't work at all. Like all melees with 0 mobility (Darius Garen Gangplank Skarner Olaf as an example)

Your not supposed to just throw random champions who have a low winrate and hope for a free win (Its quite possible to pull a win out of something if you give them a comp that can indeed function right)

And the other 2 prime examples I see thrown around alot are "All tanks" and "All supports" comps.

All tanks is generally bad to give them since it can easily backfire once they get a few items going due to being able to slowly wear down anyone while being unkillable. Also the amount of CC your giving them is absurd.

For all support comps I see thrown around alot, again. Usually backfires since the amount of sustain / CC your giving them is absurd.

Sorry but that suggested team is the stuff of nightmares. Yes you can kite them, but if you actually, you know, want to engage and push a lane or take an objective you can't because they will slaughter you. It's not like they are going to give you a bunch of super mobile high damage champs to counter that team, so basically your theory is terrible.

Yes, unfortunately, many were picking Janna, Braum, Nami, and Sona while thinking that would make them easy to fight... Not really.

Regardless of how you interpret it, I found that once you removed that top small % of overhyped and (currently) overpowered champions, the pool, as a whole, is not as bad as the community would make it out to be.

Also I was reminded how terribad I am with Evelynn..

I found that alot of plats were 1 trick ponies with trash decision making.

I was reminded why I have not bothered seriously looking for a jungler other than Evelynn .

meh, pretty good as an AP mid laner, hard carry

In the second example I gave the person across from me Nidalee, they gave me Evelynn in return, and I crushed who ever ended up with Nid in lane (I think she got traded for Rumble ). Having actually played the match up before against someone far better with Nidalee was a big help.

Poppy is seriously broken if she can get past laning phase without being shut down. That is why she is Riot's top priority for reworking.
