If norms are just for fun why can't we pick pre-rework Champions?

One of the biggest reasons I stopped playing this game was the Shen rework, I was a one-trick and I have almost no fun with the new one. If the matches don't matter anyway and the balance isn't completely destroyed why can't we pick the old versions just for fun? I'd buy every Shen skin right now if they brought that back.

In terms of how it would work two Shen ultimate would be broken, so next to the skin slider just put in a classic version slider as well.

Because of how much that would bloat up the game's storage cost (it's already 13gb with what it has, adding in every previous rework would add in tons more), and it'd mean Riot would have to balance something that had to be reworked to be balanced.

Normals can't be fun if you have to deal with the cancerous shit that was reworked out of the game.

They end up throwing away old champion files, so things like old Sion don't even exist in their data base anymore.

It sucks, I know.

Because they would have to balance both champions around the game. More work for riot. Most of the time a champion is reworked is because their playstyle was too unbeatable (Poppy used to be able to negate everyone's damage except someone she chose) or was too unfun to play against (azir's soldier mechanics).

i saw a comment like this before to which they responded and they basically said that pre reworks champs dont exist anymore and even if they could try bring them back, the technology and updates to the game would make it too difficult
