Hot take: Triumph is one of the biggest factors to the snowballing problem in League

I remember back in the day ALL the time I'd trade deaths in lane just from minion damage, and this rune sweeps in and tanks through post-death ignite. Anyone else see this as a pretty huge issue?

Old rune system had a similiar rune, "Dangerous game", tho it healed for 5% of health and mana, not 12% like current triumph.

I started picking it as support with great success (low elo tho).

Still the worst thing in this game is Conqueror with its true damage.

Hot take triumph gives better defense than conditioning/overgrowth

That rune is lowkey broken, can't count the amount of times a Jax or Irelia was about to get killed and then randomly healed for a huge amount of HP because someone they barely touched had the audacity to die.

This rune should work only on takedowns imho, after all, there's no triumph if someone else does your job.

Another Hot Take:

Runes Reforged is one of the problems with League.

It's 12% missing hp, so likely 10-11% max HP. That's further reduced by the GW on Ignite to about 6%.

6% max HP. During any trade where ignite is likely to make the difference, which we can assume is early level, thats....about all of 60 hp.

Are we actually complaining about 60 hp on a kill?

Not just the minion trades, it also helps towerdives and is part of why most teamfights feel like they are over after the first kill, cause your opponents not only are 5vs4 now but also restor 12%hp. Over a full teamfight it can heal up to 60%hp, and often is the difference between beeing able to go baron after a fight or needing to recall first. Also, not to forget the additional gold on takedowns which easily adds up to a free kill or more at the end of the game.

I agree with this, triumph makes tower diving so much safer. You can't count the times you see a laner or jungler get out alive from a tower dive because triumph lets him tank the last shot as he leaves turret range. If triumph heals a little less then there will be less room for mistakes from the team that is making this sort of plays

StormBladeMaster10/9/2019, 3:05:51 PM2 votes

Yeah this rune is stupid. Giving more gold and the regen can tank an ignite.

Wow.....we are complaining about this now? Seriously?

I thought this said Trump at first and was honestly curious If this is satire or what...

I take triumph anywhere i go if i get the chance. I have been saying it for ever now, but oh well. I will continue being a triumph main while nobody notices.

Kinda makes the other choices meaningless. Dangerous game was so broken with the old mastery system.

It seems healing is way too problematic anymore.

Vlad Q healing half his health off minions, Sylas going from 20% to 80% with one ability, and with the new runes it's worst. I'm so sick of being dove and someone getting out cuz they healing 10% of their health for free.

Mihalikb10/11/2019, 11:49:39 AM1 votes

I don't think the problem is Triumph, but that it is in Precision. It really should be in Inspiration.

It should replace the utterly useless Futures Market (it even fits thematically with the Tomorrow line... Healing you and giving you gold for "tomorrow"), and Precision should get a different rune, maybe like a small quickly decaying shield of 12% of your max hp that triggers if you suddenly take more than 30% of your HP damage in 4 seconds this on 2 minute cool down.

Aatrox Eichmann10/11/2019, 7:01:33 AM1 votes

honestly I don't think triumph should save you from ignite, but it really does help many builds on various champions

TwitchInMyPants10/10/2019, 12:31:33 AM1 votes

It definitely enables way more diving for kills but that's also the entire point of the rune

If its too weak then why would you ever pick it? Its pretty much there for diving into dangerous situations to try and get a low HP enemy.
