It's better to let top fall rather than let the enemy deny you your cs and snowball

In competitive aka ranked play, there is no way to win your lane back once you've died. For the most part, it's better to let them take your tower so you can farm freely and safely.

Why not just work on freezing lane near your tower but not in its range and farming. Also I don't agree that 1 death = lane lost. Playing from behind is all about looking to close the gold gap and exp gap. Communicate that you need help, slow the gold bleed, and keep working to the item/items that will make your champion relevant.
