'Riven is balanced' 'Riven has counters'

I decided to try her out in ranked! Never playing her before, i had a bumpy start. I sadly went 1 win and 4 losses with her in ranked, although I never really did bad, just didn't know how to carry with her. After getting use to some of the match ups, I suddenly go from 1-4 riven to 11-4 riven. Oh, garen counters her? Well I just afk farm until 25 minutes because Garen can't silence what he can't catch, and this is how i play all of my 'counters', i just afk farm then shit on their team with MUH SKILL. Oh, its a champion riven counters? I guess i have to anally rape the enemy laner with muh skill and counter play, if they try and passive i can crazy out play them with a flash-w or the like.

After 15 Riven ranked games I felt that maybe I can have a valid opinion on the champion now. I lose more ranked games than I win overall, so it is either riven is crazy op and easy, or i am 'omg stuck in elo hell bad teams' because winning my last 10 riven games without using a brain cell says something. Also, this ult cd nerf did nothing, as I often find myself not even using it in a lot of fights, and I use it more to try and steal kills from my allies.

Like what kind of BS passive does she have? That combined with her Q at level 1 and 'muh skillful animation cancel' can easily deal 5x the early damage of any other 'early game champ'

I have won 15/20 Vel' Koz games, carrying every time, and no one says he's OP. Just because a champion has the ability to outplay someone doesn't mean they're OP. Low ELO scrubs don't know what glass cannon means, and don't know how to properly space themselves from champions like Riven or Veigar, simply walking into them, getting instakilled, then claiming Riven, Veigar, etc. are OP in all chat.

Riven is blatantly overpowered... but she is one of Riot's special children, like Lee and Thresh, she will not get balanced , nerfs will never go through.

A character with huge mobility, low cds on skills, multiple AoE stuns, an AoE execute and enormous AD scaling.... THAT HAS INFINITE MANA. That is what we call, garbage balancing.... she is gated by nothing, has no weaknesses and very prominent strengths, gg.

Come back when you reach an elo where people don't just let you afk farm in bad matchups. That's not meant to be an insult; just an observation that counters don't even matter in low elo since people aren't good enough to take advantage of them.

riven is a very balanced champion dat has to snowball but gets nerfed at snowballing.. ult cd inreases etc. she cant lose lane and still usefull like malphite.. 0/10 malphite still press R and has huge impact... 0/10 riven has no dmg and no impact

I discovered something playing with and against Riven. Her "hard counters" always have to play perfectly; else they don't counter her, they feed her. She doesn't have this handicap in any match.

Her mobility is the main problem. She can keep her damage. There's no reason her Qs need to be dashes. She can keep the one on her E, but how one champion can have mobility, damage, a shield and two forms of hard CC (that aren't even on her ult) is beyond me. Even friggen Lee Sin only has the one CC--knockback--and that's on his ult.

I wish i could play riven as easily. I don't think i have ever once won a single game with her in all the times ive ever tried to play her but i always lose TO her when im against a riven. And when i hear things like this is just confuses me even more because i don't know if its just me being that bad/uncompatible with riven, or if my opponents were simply that much better than me, or if its a disadvantageous match up for whenever i play her and im just unlucky... :<

I really genuinely want to get good with Riven....

Why are people upvoting him? He just admitted to first timing a champ in ranked.

Usually when someone mentions first timing stuff in ranked they get downvoted to hell...

isn't that how you play against the counter of any champion? you just afk farm and then hopefully do better than them when it comes to teamfights or simply get past the phase in which they can be considered a counter to you?

Give her mana costs. Or give her longer cooldowns on her shield dash when she does not do damage to an enemy.
