Eh, I think the healing boost on mikael's is better on sona and soraka's healing anyways. IMO Athene's is pretty much useless now.

In some "protect the KogMaw Tristana Jinx "comp having a mid lane Lulu Orianna with item 3174 is actually very disgusting to deal with. Athenes is better for supportive mid laners, while item 3222 + item 3504 is super broken on supports like Soraka Sona Nami

Not for long. PBE has the shield and heal boost becoming unique on Mikael and Athene's.

Anyone with single-target shields who also poke begs to differ.

If anything it's overpowered on them.

It's great even on Nami if you're going for the semi-offense/defense playstyle that lets her heal up to two targets.

It does, though if the shields are multi-target, the heal is halved and applies to only the first two targets.

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression it applied to the 'first' person the heal/shield applied to, in a similar way as ludens applies to the 'first' person hit by karth ult. I gather the way that 'first' person is determined is based on the order the champs were loaded, as shown in the tab ordering, but there might be further nuances to that.

I have tested it on Alistar and Lux, and I have seem many sonas build this item, the healing never applies and the stacks were never consummed.

I assume the intended targets actually had missing health?

I did some googling and it seems like at the very least it used to work the way I described, so it might be a bug if it's not working anymore.

I am pretty sure even when the targets had missing health no healing from athenes were applied.

Probably should clarify it only doesn't work on her shield aura but works on her heal.

If someone's full HP then the charges won't be used up.

Tested on Lux and the Athene's heals proced on the first two targets that had missing health.

If anything else happens then it's most likely a bug.

I have build it numerous times on lux and it doesn't seem to ever consum the stack and do the healing, might be a bug.

yeah that's why i always choose item 3504 on my Lux

if i can hit my ENTIRE team with my shield we almost never lose a teamfight

well I wouldn't want Athens boosting (I suspect your talking about karma) karma's already extremely powerful shield that was a 6 second cd shield also karma's shield can aoe shield a big group of minions includes zzrot minions too.
