Can we get some context as to why Aurelion will effectively NEVER be able to hide on a bush?

Riot,

I don't understand why Aurelion will not be allowed to hide in bushes? Does this mean that he will be incapable of setting up a surprise bait without using his E to scale terrain? This is a pretty big obstacle.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm no Rioter, but I think it has to deal with one of Riot's biggest goals: Clarity

Imagine you're walking through the jungle, no idea Aurelion Sol is in the vicinity, and then suddenly you take some damage. You have no idea where it came from, you have no idea what caused it, you have no idea how to react. That's not clarity in the slightest, and it offers no opportunity to react or counterplay.

Aurelion Sol's passive is where the majority of his damage comes from, and it can really add up from what I've seen. Nevermind the fact that it plays the sound and VFX for hitting a champion even if you can't see them, which gives our space dragon some unexpected utility in bush checking and vision safety. Add on the incredible potential of his Q and his E, and well... it's gotta cost him somewhere.

Also, lookit Aurelion Sol's personality. You think puny terrestial flora would be able to hide ham of that cosmic proportion?

It could always become visible once it hits the enemy. But for the initial movement inside of a bush, say to break vision or set up a gank.

But that doesn't really make sense...It's not like you can see it in fog of war.. and his passive is too big to fit inside of a bush.. so why should it just go poof when he goes into a bush? I understand what you want from a game play stand point.. but as "SkyblazeHydraX3" had said before it would lead to a ton of clarity issues.

The issue really is pretty similar to a nunu ultimate inside of a bush. You get slowed, you don't have vision, but it can still do a large amount of damage to you when it detonates. Sure, it doesn't do any damage while charging, but the same clarity issue applies (if we use that as an example).

I imagine most of the community would rather you change how Nunu's ult works than how ASol's passive works if you wanted more consistency.

YES BY ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY PLEASE.

Well Cho can't fit in most bushes when big. Should we make him stick out of the bush?

That's a champions relation to the bush lol so no. This is a passive ability that has no physical connection(at least not one that we can see) to aurelion sol

And how exactly does "physical connection" matter in coding. Computer physics doesn't apply in the real world physics.

Because it doesn't make sense.. XD They don't do everything just for coding, a lot of the stuff they like to actually make sense.

Even so, that's free first hit. Depending on how Aurelion Sol builds, potentially a lot. And since Rylai's is practically core on him, a slow too.

mmmmmmm ham sorry was distracted seems like hiding shouldn't be a problem as long as he hasn't done damage yet.

Problem is it's still a free hit, and depending on how Aurelion Sol builds it could be a lot.

dont you become visible to someone if you attack them from the bush? I am actually not sure now.

SkyblazeHydraX31 votes

With auto attacks you do. With spells it.... becomes a much trickier case-by-case basis.

They should let sol be invisible in brushes unless W is active.

Dragons don't hide.

Because invisible damage isn't healthy damage. Nidalee

In addition to the clarity issue of just taking a bunch of damage without knowing what's going on, Aurelion Sol doesn't even need to hide in brush for ganks, he has his E just launching him across the map trailing the biggest AoE stun in the game.

The best argument for Sol's passive being visible is that Singed's poison turns invisible when he goes into a bush. The best counterargument to that is that Riot should make Singed's poisons stay visible already.
