I absolutely love Dark Harvest but i have to admit, I still don't get why it exists.

Its power is comparable to Electrocute only difference being Dark Harvest has infinite scaling and a slightly worse early game.

In some cases Dark Harvest just ends up being broken and in others completely useless. But in the times where you know you won't be doing as much with it you can just take Electrocute because they are essentially the same.

And the people you would think would benefit from it the most, farming junglers, typically end up being the worst users.

I mean, I guess one of the niche's is that it lets Assassins who "fall off" scale ridiculously into late game (SAKayn for example).

The power isn't comparable to electrocute whatsoever.

Most high elo kayns take electrocute , and it has a higher winrate on every jungler that can take either (pretty sure?). It's probably on the weaker side, since assassins want to snowball early, they dont want a late game keystone. It isnt a safety blanket with similar damage.

The base damage is alot lower, and the ad ratio is alot lower. Dark harvest doesn't ever really catch up when it matters, and it's alot weaker early. You'd easily need about 200 stacks to have similar damage. Way too long, early game is too important.

dark harvest level 3-6 is 35-52 damage. 25% ad ratio While electrocute is 70-100 damage. 50% ad ratio.

No contest. Literally double the damage.

Only makes the matter worse. Whats the point of Dark Harvest? Why does it exist?

It scales far harder and spikes harder than electocute ever could mid and late game. An assassin should always take dark harvest. Kaynes early game is horrendous so electrocute is a better keystone to help him get trough that early game. Thats really the only reason kayne players take electrocute over dark harvest

mid game, you dont have 200 stacks. It isnt stronger. When it is stronger, it isnt by much (on one person)

Dark Harvest doesn't just have the infinite scaling, there is another major point: it resets on kills. This makes Dark Harvest a great choice if your job is to clean up team fights.

You kill a low target with its burst, this gives you another soul to reset it so you can kill the next target with it and so on.

Electrocute doesn't grant you this, since it will go on cooldown after your first burst rotation and you won't get more benefit from it then anymore.

I took this on Hec jungle once

massive fight broke out, I lived. collected all the souls from both teams. ended up with 80 souls 6 mins in he game

yeah needless to say I spent the next 20 mins just 1 shooting every one

Dark Harvest is a team fight rune. You get the buff back after killing a target. It outscales Electrocute in the late game.

Electrocute is a duelist rune. It hits harder for most of the game, but has significant cooldown and doesn't reset in team fights.
