What elo would season 1 challengers be in the current state of the game?

Like would they be equivalent to gold or plat since we have learned so much a community? Because each year we all get better at the game, so im interested to see opinions on how well we have advanced.

The thing is... People who are high elo consider league of legends in a different light. Its not about how much information you amass, its more about how you use the information given to you in a situation to get the most desirable outcome.

A bronze player sees at max 2 options in a given scenario. Gold player probably sees 3-5, and discounts 4 of the options. Challengers see probably 20+ options in any given scenario and discount the bad ones to the point theyre going to 1v9

Generally they are still higher elo like imaqtpie is and has been challenger for a long time. Dyrus is usually stuck in masters and others like The Rain Man are hardstuck diamond.

But you get what im asking is would the newbie high elos are they equivilent to a current gold or whatever since we have more knowledge and guides and resources to get better vs ppl who had to learn the game at the start.

The game was also totally different back then too. It's almost an impossible question to answer with any accuracy. There was no Challenger in season 1. The game was so differant that if you brought some if the best players now to the past and had them face off against the best players then the ones in the past would probably be better, and vice versa.

Dyrus climbs to challenger every year and is currently in challenger.
