"Champions should have unique reasons to play them"

I think the best way to start would be to STOP shoving them into "roles" like "Juggernaut"

Each of the juggernauts does something unique though.

Only garen charges at high ms in to battle, with a mad healing passive. Only darius dunks (plus bleed). Only skarner suppresses an opponent then drags him into his team. Also, crystals. Only morde is a strong "adc" non marksman.

Which ignores that the juggernauts were overtuned and overall are much too strong - that isn't a problem with unique reasons to play though.

Juggernaut isn't a specific playstyle though. It's "tanky + damage". There are lots of different playstyles to go with that.

Skarmer gas cc garen has a silence wich is cx

see other response, yes my mistake, was thinking of bruisers.

Anyways, silence is tricky for me... As far as cc that's going to get hit on me? I'd choose silence in the majority of cases... unless I'm playing someone like Nidalee or LB, if I'm trying to get away the silence is the least deadly. Unless I'm playing a tank or an APC, a silence doesn't reduce my damage output (and as an ADC main, I really could care less about silences).

Yes, technically it's CC. But it isn't CC that's going to lock someone down for a kill in most cases. It's a different kind of CC I guess...

i usualy play casters so a silence seems pretty deadly it also takes away my gab closer id much rather take a blind and in some cases even a snare or a slow ( not nassus slow ) :P

id say silence/blind are about equal just situational on who ur playing as when im playing cho gath i dont mind a blind but a silence will be deadly where im playing twitch i dont mind a silence but a blind will be deadly

idk if u mean that bruisers have no cc ? but bruiser is basicly tanky + dmg so for example vi or sejuani even gragas wich all have pretty good cc if u ask me

of course you're right, I've edited accordingly. I'm used to responding to threads like this complaining about Bruisers, and used that response. My bad!

As my comment said though, these are overtuned right now. Tanky + Damage + CC is an OP combo... maybe if they lack mobility OR cc...

Ezreal Graves were just bad versions of Lucian until he got nerfed. Akali and Diana are basically the same champion - the stronger version atm is picked, the other one is forgotten, The old Fiora was just a bad MasterYi Aatrox is just a weak combination of champion kits released before him. Many champions share abilities - mostly hit 3 times to deal % hp dmg...

the 4 reworked champions were made more distinct from each other. each one has now an indiviadual nieche.

garen and darius for example played almost the same pre rework and filled the same role. how would you balance the two against each other, when theyre stepping on each others toes? you would just pick the one of the two who is stronger, even when theyre both viable.

  • garen now is a counter to snowballing adc and assassins. you want to pick him against a team who wants to enable a single champ. for example against a teamcomp focused around yasuo. or if you dont want the risk of a snowballing irelia wrecking your team lategame.

  • darius now excells in skirmishes and his damage escalates the longer a teamfight keeps going. which makes him really good at closing out and cleaning up fights. if youre winning, youre going to win hard.

  • skarner is all about zone and objective control

  • morde is an alternative to picking an adc into botlane and excells at sieging turrets with the dragon ghost.
