Riot, Junglers forgetting smite absolutely must be answered.
This simple mistake wastes the time of 9 other players, and its a very easy one to make.
Had it happen for the first time the other day, and the game is literally 4v5. Not because you can't smite camps, but because you end up level 3 when everyone else is level 9. What the actual fuck. You've pigeon-holed junglers so insanely hard that you literally cannot function without smite.
Because of this, EVERYONE involved gets their time wasted if the jungler forgets smite.
Due to the jungle essentially requiring smite, its obvious that the one who gets assigned to jungle should automatically have one of
automatically replaced with
. I would not include
because the large majority of champions and players take it, making it more likely to replace the summoner spell that they would not be using while jungling anyway. The large majority of the time you have to switch to
on the relevant junglers anyway, so that's why I would not include that, in addition to the few champs that prefer
+![]()
This absolutely would not stop you from taking ignite or TP in the jungle, if that's your thing. It would just mean that Smite would be forced onto the jungler, which is in no way a bad thing since its now required for junglers to function anyway.
You might make the argument "What if I want to swap roles in champion select?"
That's easily addressed as well. Have another 'trade' icon above where the champion trade icon is that is exclusive to the summoner that is jungling. Doing so automatically forces smite in place of one of the non-flash spells for the summoner receiving the jungle role from him/her. For convenience, it will switch smite with the most common summoner for the previous jungler's received role, but it may be switched with any other summoner at any time. This is in case of last-minute trades so you don't accidentally end up as a top/mid/jungle/support with Smite.
Is there really a reason this should not be done? It should absolutely be included with the client update if another solution hasn't already been included.
