Fid is bad because of being linear, falling off, and grevious wounds being more common.

Zerenza1 votes

More common? Last time i checked 2 items in the game inflict greivous wounds and one champion does.

Troll for Trump3 votes

And when was the last time fid was good by himself?

Before Grev wounds items became more common and got buffed.

Toa Innodence8 votes

technically three items if you include build path item 3123 item 3033 item 3165 one of which is built by a majority of mages for the mana passive, cost efficiency etc. in the cancerous metamage morelludens rush.

also, two champions Katarina Varus and one summoners spell. summoner 14

It doesn't matter if only one champion has greivous wounds in their kit, Ignite exists and can be taken on anyone...

ChaoticPinecone1 votes

The problem isnt that its sources are limited in number, but because those each of those items are bought by 90% of Mages/ADCs.

Back in the Athenes-rush days (So from Season 1 to Season 5) Grevious Wounds wasnt common. Morello was rarely bought since mages liked the MR and mana-font passive from Chalice, and Executioners Calling didnt build into anything. You basically relied on Ignite.

I honestly noticed this about 6 months ago, after being fed up with the shit show around malzahar, i was thinking through other forms of targeted CC, and realized that fiddle, given his E prioritizing his W targets now, was about as close as you could get to the chemo that was malzahar to cancerous burst/mobility champions.

The only thing that sucks, is that even without grievous wounds, most champions can 100-0 you through drain's healing. So, once people realized they can tank the damage and kill you through the healing, it loses a lot of it's potency

YumaS2Astral1 votes

I personally think they should reduce his healing but make it ignore magic resistance (similar to what they did to Swain, Renekton, and old WotA).

Building magic resistance actually allows you to reduce Fiddlesticks' healing because his healing directly scales with how much damage he does with his W.

The fact that every champion that used to not gain MR per level now does, and the fact that his passive no longer gives him flat magic penetration, does not help.

Playing all those champs, I have to agree that Middlesticks is a good pick right now against them. Might I also recommend Ahri? Very strong champion yet still has the cc and safety to not be as susceptible to the tilts of facing the champions mentioned in the post. Great post!

Ahri cc can be juked, fiddle sticks can't miss= counters mobility

Ahri and Orianna are also very safe picks for these matchups. Pretty easy to pickup and learn, but they take a lot of games to fully master.

Ahri and Orianna are very safe picks for any matchup.

Voluug132 votes

Ahri maybe, but Orianna is very easy to bully around with any mage that outranges or out-tanks her.

GULAG 4 U1 votes

That's pretty much just Kassadin no?

Voluug131 votes

Orianna doesnt have a low cd blink... so no. Kass is only ''weak'' to being outranged pre-6, Orianna is weak to that all game.

That they are, my friend. That's why they're good blind picks.

Shhh, if people start playing him hes gonna get reworked into a supportish minion mage.

13900 Essence1 votes

When he throws his crow, it will spawn an additional crow that must move on foot for every bounce of the original crow.

The spawned crows will die in 3 hits, and his kit will be balanced around the fact that he is now only viable as support minionmancer.

Riot will proceed to deny the fact that they made several mistakes in his rework for months to come.

Several months later, he will accrue several minor nerfs that add up to one huge nerf, making him unviable even support until he joins the dumpster club with Aatrox, Azir, Kalista, and Urgot.

ESPECIALLY when you're in freaking bronze, where 98% of the mid lane picks are assassin and the other 2% are Lux.

fiddle sint an auto win thou

although a fiddle who knows what he is doing is a literal PoS and i hope he never becomes meta again for the sake of my well being as a mid laner that been said im not against him being buffed into being a mid laner for the sake of my mains

IPromiseTomorrow1 votes

Azir is pretty good against them too now. Zed for some reason has a low winrate vs Azir aswell

Vs Yas as Azir. Putting a soldier on top of yourself zones him from you and he takes quite a bit of damage off he dares to fight you. Just a tip since most Azirs don't put a soldier on themselves a lot vs Yas

Solidarius1 votes

although fid is a good pick I feel like a mid fid vs someone like Pantheon would rage quit at lvl 3 lol

Another good option? Play Karma, max E, take Barrier. You can play the lane super-safe, and if they jump on you, you can E and/or pop barrier as needed, while using R+W to get the health and force them to back out from their dive.

She also does really good damage with AP late-game, and can keep her team safe in teamfights if necessary.

Or play malzahar/lissandra/vladimir -malz has a lockdown point and click -liss has a point and click lockdown and an alright escape -vladimir has a good escape that makes him invunerable

Its All Skillzz1 votes

fiddlesticks is the defintion of cancer for anyone who can jump on him, most time i play ap ezreal mid and the only way to beat him is to out range him. if you was short range assassin youd have no chance due to being feared into instant silence an prob nearly dead if not chunked super low by the time the cc wears off.

Edge of Daybreak1 votes

I actually have been trying mid fiddlesticks. its pretty good
