I'll take a mage/tank/fighter/support meta any day. Why do people want an even more snowbally game? It was so much fun having an assassin snowball and then proceed to split push all game. It'll be even more fun with Rift Herald!

No one specifically wants an assassin meta. We want a meta that we CAN play an assassin and not auto lose if we don't win by 25 because the enemy adc doesn't die and full aces our team. Honestly Tanks, enchanters (even mid ones like ori) are the only classes that can be around with ADC's being so strong. Mages want to be useful, assassin do, fighters want to actually stand a chance. The game is build around playing boring zero skill tanks, supports, and right clicking as adc.

Wanting assassins to be viable is not the same as wanting assassins to be the focal point of compositions/gameplay decisions.

Because they are dumb or young cod loving kids that think clicking someone with two spells in the blink of an eye and deleting them is montage worthy.

Also no I don't particularly like this meta much either with adcs acting like pseudo rework Graves with all the shields and % damage reduction they can get.

I die faster now than in the old "assassin meta"

Every time the jungler walks into top lane it's a free kill because I have literally no defense to getting INSTAgibbed by their mobility + CC + single combo.

The actual assassins aren't meta now because they have actual weaknesses built into their kits to make up for all their damage, unlike all these other champs that are free to assassinate you as they please while also being incredibly mobile and/or having tons of CC.
