What if Armor slowed your Movement speed?

Waiting for team builder to find a team, figured I'd post an idea that I had earlier on the boards, since I'm BORED ba dum tiss

Saw another fizz go full tank and today it made me laugh, just picturing Fizz doing all those back flips and dashes with item 3143 item 3075 item 3083 all these heavy armors on. Can you imagine?

Been playing Witcher 3 when not playing League, and lighter armors are weaker but are for mobility and heavier are more durable, but slow you down.

JUST FOR FUN!, I wondered if league could benefit from having such a mechanic where defensive items slowed your MS by X%. Nothing too critical, just enough to deter from super-tanky-yet-still-super-mobile-one-shotting champs. Just enough to force you to decide between mobility or defense.

It becomes less thematic with Magic Resistance(magic shields are heavy?) so I'm not sure how that would work, maybe it doesn't need to be thematic because reasons of Velkoz and item 1001 . I'll edit OP if somebody suggest a good idea.

Again, this is just for fun. Don't take it too seriously.

Edit: Defensive items could get an individual weight assigned to them and would essentially act as a MS debuff. Weight's MS debuff would be factored into it's gold effeciency. Items like ohmwrecker would be lighter than items like Randuin's or Warmogs , and gold costs would increase/ decrease to reflect. Do I want less armor and still be mobile, or get the tankier item and sacrifice some mobility?

If you were going to do this you'd need to buff armor and MR's effect per point, because...

Just enough to force you to decide between mobility or defense.

You already have to decide between mobility and defense (or offense). Items that offer passives or actives that improve your mobility have fewer stats in other categories (or cost more money than equivalent items that don't improve mobility).

Maybe you could have a defensive item that was really slot-efficient but had a percentage self-debuff to MS or couldn't be bought with boots or something.

Yeah didn't really think about having to buff them. that makes sense.

Sounds like a perfect idea. Me and my champions are ready. KalistaVayne

mhm, but remember, ADC's often build item 3026 , which would effectively slow them slightly.

I build it very rarely. Most ADC's i see build it rarely. Maybe my ELO just isn't high enough.

Yeah, it all depends. If you can get away with being a glass cannon have at it, but it's generally recommended to build at least one defensive item.

I usually go Banshee's or MS though. I can generally stay back far enough on most of my ADC's to where I'm one of the last one's dead in a teamfight and GA doesn't help much there.

tends to be their sixth item tho

What if the items are actually really really small?

J Epstein1 votes

True, and I thought about that as well after I posted. Maybe have a weight to each item, essentially a MS debuff? So something like item 3056 would only slow MS a fraction of item 3143 .

If I recall correctly, before the retcon the summoner was drawing power from the "relics" or items, not the champion directly wearing them.

I think.

I honestly don't know.

Boots makes Anivia fly faster, Nami can heal Brand with water, Ahri can charm Taric and all the void champions, and Cass can turn Malphite into stone. Nothing in this game makes sense.

I know right. Which is why i pointed out this whole thing loses momentum because of reasons:Velkoz and item 1001 . But good point about the retcon, nobody knows what's going on anymore. Drawing from "relics" though would make it alot easier to justify all the nonsense that goes on in the game.

No. Ranged champs already have a lots of adavantage no need another one.
