Upvote please until riot actually explains how placements actually work.
Let's think about this logically guys, If I say.... win 10/10 games I should be at the very least promoted one rank.
If I win 5/5 I should be placed in the exact same rank right?
I've already read too many stories on the forums that simply ignore this obvious logic. So seriously riot, WHAT'S GOING ON!?!?!?

Enna1 votesLast season I won 3 and lost 7 ranked games in my provisionals and got like Bronze I or Bronze II, I forget which. I'm not sure what's up right now with placements.
Alakalzam1 votesA soft reset essentially reduces everyone's MMR by X amount. A hard reset would entirely negate your MMR from last season and you'd start fresh.
So when you're winning your placement games, you have to remember that you're starting with a soft-reset MMR, so even if you win all of your games, you may not gain enough MMR to be placed in the league you were in last season. But if you keep winning, you should move back up there pretty quickly.
