Sunfire Cape Changes

item 3068 Sunfire Cape got buffed to 500 health in the preseason, a much needed change. If we could could get an extra 5 armor on it (for 50 total) and the passive could be toggled on and off, then this item would be much stronger. As it is, Sunfire Cape is purchased as a damage item instead of an option for an armor/health item. In exchange, the price could be increased and the damage on Sunfire Cape could be lowered.

Go ahead, lower the damage. I still won't take it over Deadman's plate

dead man's plate was nerfed to 500 health. if they could be in the same stat range, then there would actually be a decision between which item you chose. many people would still take dead man's plate, but sunfire cape would be a viable option on more champions.

If it gave 10% CDR, then you could make a case for it. Deadman's plate gives more map mobility, slightly more armor, and also offers damage, just like Sunfirecape, except it also comes with a slow attached, so that's a free CC

the only real reason to ever take it is when you're stacking all of the armor items against an All AD team

CDR would be interesting, especially since Kindlegem would make so much sense for the build path. The price would have to be increased significantly and the item could be a bit oppressive. I would love to see Riot do something for this item, and that would be a great change.

if the enemy has more than 30 mr and you have no mpen then the damage is absolutely negligible. Lowering the damage would make this passive absolutely worthless. (which it already is)

This in no way should be bought as a damage item and deadmans will out damage it everytime with the single proc.

The only time you should ever buy this is if you need more armor and have already purchased deadmans/randuins

Champions like Shen take it as a damage item, since they don't build anything else for damage (except maybe Titanic Hydra). They don't really take it for the armor and the health, because they would go for a different item instead, like Randuin's Omen. I don't mean to lower the damage a lot, I only meant by a few points per second (from 43 per second at level 18 to 40 per second). Since it would have more armor and the toggle, it would be worth it. The toggle would let you control waves of minions better and prevent unwanted aggro from jungle monsters, minions, towers, etc. This in itself would be a pretty significant buff, as would the armor increase. It would be in the exact same stat category as Dead Man's Plate, meaning that DPS bruisers who already have mobility would want to take it, instead of everyone except a few champions just taking Dead Man's Plate.
