Taliyah is exactly what a prototype Jungler should be like.

Ever since Taliyah's mini-rework, she moved away from a sole laner and picked up the ability to work as a jungler. Really good change, hats off to Riot, even when at first I questioned the change very hard.

This is what a jungle should be like. Good clearing speed, and average ganking potential. Finally, Taliyah can focus to work as a "laner", having a "lane opponent" in the jungle, and having to beat them. Other junglers could also do that (Graves, Nidalee for example), but the low strength of Taliyah's ganking potential makes it more focused on beating the enemy jungler.

And that's how it should be. I heavily despise junglers who have insane mobility so that they can pull off ganks. Elise, Lee Sin, Zac, Kayn, or stealth champions are unhealthy. Their main strength is ganking, which is one of jungle's things to do, but it shouldn't be the main focus. Especially in low elo, people do not respect that. They think that the jungler is a permanent ganking machine who can have 15 cs at 10 minutes, but as long as they're ganking, it's all good.

Nah, jungling is so much more than that. It's such a complex role and requires a lot of skill and game knowledge, and team effort, to pull ahead of the enemy. And Taliyah is a prototype of this. She CAN gank, but only if she gets into a very smart pathing behind the enemy, which requires good ward dodging, identifying pushing lanes and pushed - up enemies etc. Unlike other junglers who can just brute force their way in, apply CC and damage and pick up kills or force flashes, Taliyah can only get successful ganks in only in certain situations, and that's how it should be.

She can instead focus on beating the enemy jungler, denying camps, getting map and vision control and also denying ganking paths herself.

This is a different post than most others on here. It doesn't have any complaining, or stuff about weak or strong champions. It's about a part of the game which I believe to be correct and healthy. Of course, you can't make all champions like Taliyah, because it kills diversity, but honestly, I'd enjoy it more if people's view of the jungling role changed from a 3-lane ganking machine to a "lane" itself.

I guess that's because you feel like they can clear the jungle faster because they can also use auto attacks, maybe.

I think that would be the result of ad itemization consistently being stronger. But anyways [sg-lulu]

It's mostly because AP Junglers have always been sub-par incomparison.

The only consistent AP Junglers in LoL history have been Elise and Nidalee

Other then that they've been constantly in and out of meta Diana Fizz Fiddlesticks Evelynn Ivern Nunu as a result of constant meta shifts, personal reworks and Jungle Changes.

AP Junglers just rely on too many things to remain viable.

When she hits 6, she becomes quite good at ganking, tho. Really long dash on her R, creating terrain to cut off the enemy retreat and able to oftenly force a flash if the enemy has no movement spell to get over the wall.

Well, its cooldown is long, so I guess it's not something you can rely on.
