A lesson from Hearthstone and League of Legends
When you have a game which can be won at any point, and can be broken down into early, mid, late game.
NEVER RELEASE STRATEGIES WHICH SECURE THE WIN IN THE EARLY GAME.
Seriously, hearthstone can't break the cancer that is aggro decks,
League is rampant with champions that abuse the early game power spikes to get fed and steam roll everyone before they even come close to being equal in power.
I know this game hasn't been a strategy game for a long time, rather it's more of a TPS twitch reaction style game now, #skillshots, but this is still an important aspect of the game. Nothing feels worse than not being able to do anything, because shy of a massive misplay, you CAN'T win a fight early. Not being able to win a fight means you give up map/lane control, letting them have access to objectives and farm, which you are incapable of contesting, and giving them an even further power lead.
