Akali needs reworked

Yeah, there is some definite salt in this post, but after reading you will have to agree that it's completely justified.

I just finished a game where I was Rumble top vs Akali. Rumble is a pretty hard counter to her and I absolutely crushed her in lane. She was 1/4 at level 8 (the one being a great gank by the jungler that she KS'd). I was level 10, 3/1 and had a 60 CS lead on her. So in any realm of sanity, there should be no way she could duel me 1v1. However, once she had her 2nd item completed (item 3146 item 3100 ) she was able to literally kill me at will, regardless of my huge lead on her.

I'm sorry, but that should never happen. If you stomp a champion in lane, they should be worthless for a long time. After she got that ridiculous kill on me, she went on a 6 kill streak against our team even though she literally was behind every one of our players. We had to 4v1 her to finally kill her. Why should ANY champion be able to snowball that quickly while behind?

So, seriously, where is her weakness at? If a champ is beaten that badly in lane, they should be a non-factor the rest of the game unless they are a late game hyper carry. Even more so when they are an assassin that can snowball hard.

End of rant. Thanks for reading.

Akali is SO HOT3 votes

-One of the worst pre 6's in the game -Very unreliable teamfight -Clunky assassination pattern that can be easily screwed up due to terrible auto attack animation -Very unreliable defense mechanism -1 stun or knockup and she's basically dead in a teamfight -Very squishy -Melee -No escape unless there are jungle monsters or minions nearby

If you had really been stomping her then it should've been a really long time before she completed those items and by then you should've been miles ahead of her. After 2 items she tends to be able to quickly kill squishy targets which makes her really good in skirmishes which is why she doesn't like teamfights. If you stomped her that hard she should've been worthless for quite a while unless you didn't buy any pink wards at all to counter her with 75 gold or if you failed to do anything against here in fights and let her get resets off of kills and assists.

Akali can snowball really hard just like any other Assassin even if she is put behind early on as long as she is good enough to outplay pink wards and get kills and assists in skirmishes to get fed.

You should've been able to end the game before she became a factor so either other lanes got stomped and gave her enough time to catch up or you guys just kept misplaying and let her get fed off of mistakes because of how well she punishes people not playing well.

I agree with a lot of your listing of her weakness, but they are the same for pretty much every assassin. Teamfighting is dependent on deleting a carry quickly, which she can do quite well. Her AA animation doesn't hurt her that much since she bursts squishes so fast. Pink wards can counter her shroud, but honestly, how often does that happen? The stun or knockup is the same for 75% of champions. She isn't that squishy thanks to itemization. Melee doesn't matter since she can stick so easily. Her escapes are much better than most champs.

I agree that it should have been a long time before she came online, but even then, if you have a good lead, it shouldn't matter. In this case it didn't matter at all. She just got two items and started deleting people. The snowballing for a lot of champions in the game is pretty much ridiculous.

As for ending the game, there is no real way right now to end the game early enough before she becomes a factor. This is the biggest problem I have.

She's on the rework schedule within a year, I believe. Same with Warwick and Urgot.

Did you buy pink wards? If you stick it in her W you can see her.

With Rumble, you don't even need to buy pinks. His Q totally covers her shroud, so you always hit her in it. That's why he is such a good counter to her. It was so bad that she stopped using it against me since it didn't help her at all.

She is currently up for the possible assassin rework coming probably at the preseaon of Season 7. If you really want to destroy her in lane play someone with good poke, as she has no sustain in her kit at all (not even shields) and zone her from CS. Try to make her lose as much as possible, and if you can deny experience from creeps. At level six she might all in.

They said that she'd probably be Swained; she could get minor changes there, but she needs more work than a roster update can offer. Also, no sustain in her kit? Aside from her AD-scaling spellvamp passive?

Oops. Forgot about that part yeah I never see her.

I poked her down with my Q and E really well and denied her a TON of CS. But it ended up not mattering when she can be way behind and still kill you.

I don't feel like Rumble is a tremendously good champion against high burst champions once they gain access to their burst. Beating Akali in a duel is always a case of killing her quickly enough (or if you have a sustained damage pattern, CCing her heavily throughout the fight) so that she can't sustain through your damage. Rumble doesn't really have that burst though, particularly as Akali's dash allows her to continuously evade his Q and potentially an R that the Rumble isn't careful to keep her on.

I feel like unless you got tremendously fed (you were very fed, but not insane) you were always going to have difficulty in keeping ahead of Akali. It's not very fair but you'd have similar issues against any burst heavy assassin/fighter with the mobility to dodge some of your damage.

I agree that if things are pretty even, Akali should beat Rumble. The problem that I have is if you do a great job getting ahead, you should be in a spot to overcome that. That's why I was upset about it.

Link the game.

It's more of a problem with itemlization than champions. Any champion would wreck you at that point, especially assassins, and champions that attack fast.

Honestly just playing Riven against her, or Heimerdinger, or even Ekko.

your build is outdated :) item 3124 and item 3146 were better earlier and lichbane is like 4th or 5th item because rageblade let you hit 150+ cs without spamming your e.

[slayer-jinx-wink]

nerfed in mage rework

Rageblade sucks now on kali, rip in pepperoni

It was her build, not mine, but it worked well.

When you pick mobile assassins that scale with levels and items well, you rarely win lane in lower elo. It's almost expected for you to roam for kills and assists post 6 to catch up. If the enemy overextends, I am getting a kill or assist 90 percent of the time outside of my lane. Akali isn't meant to win straight 1v1 unless you are playing tank akali that became a thing or are fed.

Pink wards countering your shroud has always been an issue with akali and that'll never go away until they give her a new w that does feel like an assassin tool. Her current shroud is p obvious and gives away your position and doesn't feel assassin-y at all, and I agree that it is her weakness/crutch. It could be retooled to something like bard's ult that can be thrown longer distances and covers slightly more area while hiding allies and increasing their movement speed, so you can pretend you are somewhere where you aren't to gank from another angle. Now it just feels useless outside of lane phase because you are moving all over the place and the cd is already really long for an ability that adds nothing beside invis and movement speed in such a limited fashion.

Your idea of having her shroud being thrown is pretty interesting. I hope Rito sees this.
