It's not about coding, that is easy, the problem is figuring out the useability. How would you decide between placing a ward and using the other active?

The best we have is a double active like Lee Sin or pick a spell like Twisted Fate. However those only make sense with similar actives.

not impossible a simple way just of the top of my head would be to have the item in say slot 1, and using 1 will make you use the active gold item effect, 2 would make you use the sightstone (give it an option in the menu to swap the priority around) since you can only buy one gold item, this wont become a mess of your inventory becoming a mess of 1-10 actives on items, and you practically always need a non active item in every build (boots) anyway

Then what would be the point of merging the two items? You're still limited a slot down if you have two actives in one.

boots dont have an active 99.9% of champions in the game tend to buy boots also 7 is a key on my keyboard, unsure if yours has one, but mine does

In Dota, they recently merged Green and Pink wards together if you have both of them. You can swap them out by double clicking onto the slot. In LoL, you could do it just the same with maybe a right click or Ctrl + the number.

I think they could just do what someone suggested a bit ago which was have different sightstone upgrades.

If you didn't despise clicking the item every time you wanted to ward that would be one way to do it.

The only other way I could think of is a sightstone key bind. Since warding's rarely a life or death matter it could be put on an obscure key like X. (which probably already does something)
