About Poppy in the spotlight

Her ult somehow hit Bard but did not send him flying (he took damage but he wasn't displaced or knocked up.

Yet logically as with every other interaction and magical journey that is a displacement, Bard should have gone flying back towards Poppy. C'mon Riot this is your own champ spotlight and you can't even see the bugs in it or don't care. You had to have editted and looked at this footage and went. Hey maybe we should you know check why that didn't work how it should have.

And further proof that this is not intended at all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tNDoXIYptk 5:08 Bard gets pulled out of the journey.

Bard was already IN magical journey. He doesnt become undamagable, just untargetable and soft CC delayed. As poppys new ult is AoE, of course it hits.

Edit: We dont know how knockbacks actually interact with magical journey, because theres only two knockbacks in the game. One of them isnt even live yet; everything else that displaces has some sort of hard CC attatched to it making them unsuitable comparisons.

He does not become untargetable. He is still effected by CC, hence why you can stun and silence people inside of it. And yes her ult hit, but no nothing happened to him at any point after she landed ult. In fact he technically should have never entered magical journey to begin with.

No... o-o' Hard CC cant effect bard while IN magical journey. Soft CC is delayed until afterwards (just like how you used to be able to ignore the effects of long slows or silences by zhonya-ing).

Poppys ult is not a hard CC; its not a knock up. Knock ups are accompanied by a ministun. Think of it more as a forced dash; as bard was already doing the magical journey (yes, he was already IN the amination for it) the CC was delayed. By the time he got out, the CC had already passed.

Iirc the same thing happens with tristana ults where its super easy to ignore the KB effect if you flash into it.

It doesn't matter if every other interaction makes sense. It does not make sense to have random outliers. There is this thing called consistency. Something that Riot seems to have forgotten about this preseason. It's why Jax is so strong (because now his text conflicts with how the game works). It's why this game is so bad in so many ways. You think you know every interaction then there are the random outliers. If it is an outlier it should be a bug.

IDC if it is "a feature". If its a feature you have to tell us. Otherwise it is not official and therefore a bug.

If a displacement is greater than another displacement, it should override it.

"Consistency". It does have that.

Knockback is an entirely different effect that knockup, stun, or pull.

Do you know WHY its different? Knockback has no hard CC tied to it.

Poppys ult is damage+knockback, like tristanas. Magical journey is treated as a flash. There being no hard CC, even if you get hit, you arent knocked back because youre in a "flash" state.

The same goes with Blitz pull technically and I posted proof of that from yet another Riot video. It is also a displacement ability and it still works. This is inconsistency. Because using the same logic Thresh can also pull him out.

Knockback has NO HARD CC ACCOMPANIED WITH IT. There are literally two knockback abilities in the game. Only one of them is non-targeted and isnt even live.

Why is it so hard to wrap your head around the concept that knockback is a soft CC that might not interact with magical journey?

There is no such thing as knock back. Even so by your logic Blitz shouldn't pull him out of it. Because the stun is delayed and knock backs and pulls use the same code, so therefore they operate the same but do no work the same. Anything knock up related shares the same coding.

And the point is, this is a fairly major bug. As this effects any game both bard an poppy are in. And needs to be fixed so that it makes sense to everyone and isn't just random coding saying "haha, NOPE!". Exceptions are not okay especially when they aren't listed. All CC should operate the way they are expected to. With displacement overriding displacement, and hard CC overriding other hard CC. Something you that forces you to move isn't soft CC at all. It is forced movement with no reduction and technically higher up than hard CC. The only thing worse than not being able to move, is being forced to move somewhere you don't want to and have nothing to deal with it.

What makes you think pulls, WHICH ALL STUN, use the same code as knockbacks, WHICH DONT STUN? What proof do you have of this? What riot post says explicitly that KB, a trait previously only used on tristanas targeted ultimate, isnt its own unique form of soft CC?

Youre comparing apples to oranges here. Do you have a PBE account? Im more than willing to test this, but you cant go around making claims like this without actual evidence. Assuming because A does this doesnt mean B, something potentially completely different but similar in effect, also does this.

I seem to remember him getting rocket nabbed by Blitz in Bard's champion spotlight...

Hard CC vs soft CC. Knockback can be considered soft :c

Id have to test to see if its possible to knock someone out of magical journey with knockback... But i dont think it is. Doesnt help that poppy is the only one with knockback we can actually test with.

The displacement was interrupted by his Journey, and since it isn't a CC or anything, he logically just ignored it. Its bullshit, but it makes sense

No it doesn't as a Bard player. I have been stunned inside of it. It literally override magical journey and then if you are still inside it, it continues. This literally makes no sense whatsoever because he should have never even entered it to begin with and also completely ignored the CC.

See? There's the thing. So he continued his journey instead of being displaced, and Poppy's let doesn't have an actual stun or cc associated with it, so when he gets out he just...gets out.

No because it a CC. It is forced movement. Forced movement is a CC.

Magical journey is CC delayed dude. o-o If youre in it, you still move through it and your CC spends the rest of its time on the other side. You can also still be hit by AoEs while your model is a champion and not a bubble, while still being CC delayed.

Poppy's ult isn't like Nautilus's ult, where it would Point & Click onto a single champion & will always deal the CC blow. After she ults, it would go along a straight line towards Bard, and he just managed to "Magical Journey" right before the impact came.

The impact hit and he took damage.
