Mages feel like they don't have their own keystone or rune tree(sorcery is far too generalized)

Unlike Precision which is highly specialized and can only be used effectively by AA using champions(ADC and some bruisers maybe Azir), or Resolve which has a number of runes that will only be taken by tanks for a number of reasons, or Domination which feels like the quintessential assassin tree, Sorcery is just far too generalized of a rune tree.

I see everyone taking sorcery runes on a number of different champions, champions that are supposed to be taking other runes. Comet and Aery have no niche uses or niche champions they should be used on they are just raw and general damage that every champion can use. Phase Rush which should be a niche mage keystone feels terrible on every mage right now and is being kept that way because of all the bruisers that want to use it.

Champs like MF and Jhin really should be taking sorcery because they want the ad moreso than attack speed and aren't assassins.

No tree is really restricted to actually certain class. Prescision can also be used by fighters like Warwick and Udyr, domination can be used by any burst champ, sorcery is for casters, and resolve can also be good for bruisers and fighters.

Yo. Be creative, make the runes work for you mage champ. I was on the PBE the other day and I tried Electrocute on Zoe in a custom game and ,oh boy, does it destroy. I know I played up against NPCs but the rune was great for her. I even tried out some things for my favorite mage, well my favorite until Zoe comes out. Sorcery is not amide towards mages nor any other type of champion style. It all comes down to how you like to play. I like high early game burst damage, so I go electrocute pretty often with Quinn. But if I have to go tank or bruiser I either go for the Press the Attack or the new and better grasp of the undying. If you like late game high burst damage, dark harvest is just for you and it works amazingly well with Quinn and her Dusk in mid to late game. Dude, just find your play style. This is what so fun with the new runes. And I a going to make a post on great Quinn rune builds for all types. So if you want to learn how to play her and what type you are with her, then just keep looking on the site for my post. GL man, and have fun.

None of the trees are truly speciallised. Every tree has something every class arguably can make use of depending on your aproach.

There is no "this tree isbfor this class" anymore in the true sense.

Be creative and experiment.

Yellow = ADCs Red = Assassins Blue = support/mage Green = generic tanky White = utility

ADCs encompases all marksmen and a few melee ADCs like Yi and Yasuo. Assassin encompasses all assassins and divers. Blue encompases all mages who arent assassins and all supports who arent tanks. Generic tanky encompases all champions who want to focus on being tanky. Utility doesnt really work for anyone specifically.

So yes, riot has created the runes with the express intent of tailoring them to specific classes of champions. Expect blue. Because in riots mind, mages and supports are synonymous.
