Possible Way to Give Rengar Some Counterplay

So it seems that a lot of the Rengar hatred is that he can insta-kill a carry and there's pretty much nothing your team can do to stop him short of dropping a pink ward and then CCing him before he can jump to your carry. I think a lot of this anger also comes from reduced vision due to the removal of green wards, which makes spotting a flanking Rengar much more difficult.

I was wondering if a good way to give him some counterplay would be to make his leap stop at the first champion it hits hit so allies could block for their carry if they guessed which way the Rengar was coming from. For example, if Rengar tried to jump onto the ADC if the support stepped between Rengar and the ADC Rengar's jump would stop at the support. Essentially, Rengar's jump would function very much like Caitlyn's ultimate.

I think this would give some good counterplay to Rengar because it gives the opposing team a decent chance to stop the Rengar if they position themselves correctly. This change also rewards good Rengar players would flank from unsuspecting angles, heightening Rengar's play-style as a primal hunter who attacks at the most opportune time.

I kinda like this idea however this requires any rengar to have some crazy positioning skills unless the adc is alone. Def makes him more balanced in the case of teamfights though.

I completely agree with it, but I think it may difficult to code. It gives Rengar a much, much higher skill ceiling.

I have faith in the Riot coders.

Remove the increased defense from using his roar as well. I don't see why an assassin has the option to increase his armor and magic resist by 75 when jumping headfirst into a 5 man team that's doing their best to counter him from picking off squishy targets.
