Why is auto-fill still enabled in ranked?

Serious question that is probably never going to get an answer, let alone any sort of statistic showing that it's beneficial.

I just had to sit through an auto-filled support Morgana maxing W and pushing with it on cooldown, in a game where we had a funneling mid lane (aka no jungle), leaving us constantly open to ganks with no possibility of counter ganks.

This feature has no place in ranked and does absolutely nothing positive for the game. It should have been removed long ago.

Because the alternative would be waiting possibly twenty to thirty minutes for a match where everyone gets a role they picked. If you're in diamond, you have queue times that last that long with the auto fill system. If you remove it, those players could potentially have to wait hours for a match, which doesn't seem worth the wait considering matches last about half that time. Besides, if you're in a series, or filled recently, you get immunity from it. I fill all the time in norms, so I get experience in many roles. If I want to try out a champion, I have the fill immunity so I am likely to play the role I need.

Even if you were correct about queue times (which you're not, and further you have absolutely no data to back up this claim), auto-fill usually ends up causing a loss in ranked, especially at high ratings. You can't throw a Bronze level support into lane against a Diamond level ADC and support and expect to win.

How can you seriously imply that it's better to get us into a game that has a high probability of being a complete loss quickly than to let us sit in queue for 5 minutes and get an actually good game?

First off, less players means less people queued at any given time. That's just common sense. Second, if you're in ranked, you're not going to see any plat face off against a bronze, roles aside. If you're talking about skill level and not actual rank, then that means that the player with the high skill level can climb without much trouble. I agree that elo should be based off individual skill and performance instead of whether or not you win or lose, but since that's the system we have, the good players are much more likely to climb than the bad ones. At least there's that.

I take it you lost a game because you or one of your teammates got filled into a role they don't like, and you want to whine and complain to the world instead of learning from your in-game mistakes and actually improving as a player. Look, I don't like being out matched by better players either, but there's nothing interesting about sitting in queue. I play games to play games, not to wait around in a queue.

And that's why you play normals instead of ranked, so stop posting in threads about ranked? Why are you even posting in a thread about a game mode you don't play? How about you stop?

I know enough.

By the way, I didn't know that was an argument against all those valid points. Wait, it isn't
