Remember when Darius, Garen, and Gangplank were top tier picks in LCS?

Neither do I because it was such a long ass time ago/never happened.

Do something to these guys before 2020 Riot, I know you have 4 reworks between now and then and that GP is getting his during the bilgewater event(hopefully), but the other 2 are absolutely horrendous in a competitive scene, pubstompers at best.

But why does every champion have to be viable in the LCS? The LCS isn't a yardstick that measured viability in soloQ. In fact, a huge amount of the time champions that are good in the LCS are mediocre in soloQ because they rely on team coordination and composition.

Conversely, some champions are awesome in soloQ (e.g. Shaco or Tryndamere) but crap in LCS because they rely on lack of coordination.

You don't need to balance for both forms of the game. It's OK to have some champions work in one form and not the other. Darius, Garen and GP are perfectly balanced in SoloQ.

Nah, Darius and Garen are extremely predictable and just won't be able to kill anybody by themselves, or you should really fire the guy that dies to them alone. They just won't have huge pressure, are extremely easy to play around in teamfights, don't offer much crowd control, not that tanky overall (Garen is more tanky than Darius though). And if they could somehow be problematic in laning, just do a 4v0 laneswap and that's it.

You can see how the toplaners in the competetive games are denied farm and xp, do you think that they can function at all? That's why people play Gnar, Mao, Sion - who will still have their CC and be ok - no need to have fancy items when you can stun the enemy team and be useful.

Garen is hard to make LCS viable because he is a learn-to-play champion so his mechanics need to stay simple. Then again Morgana is the same way but she is a top-tier pick, so there is hope.

Gangplank is one of the cheesiest champions in the game, with a completely binary play style and a toxic laning phase. He needs a rework.

Darius has a kit that is toxic from the ground up. When he is strong no one is having fun but him, not even his team because he is encouraged to KS them and not share kills due to the way his resets work. I am an avid Darius player and he is one of my favorite champs, and even I can't count all of his glaring kit problems on one hand.
