Can we please evaluate Repertoir

Garen: Currently sitting at 42% winrate. Each time I want to pick him I ask myself why not pick Darius instead. Garen was changed from an early game fighter who transitioned into a tank to a 'juggernaut' who brings nothing to the team. Buying resistances isn't as rewarding on him as it used to be because Repertoir decided only HP and AD should be bought on Garen. He doesn't bring any utility, cc, or real damage or tankiness to the team. Is just a general nuisance who loses lane against everyone nowadays. His ult has a random truedamage minigame. Because it is random his power has a high variance and thus unreliable. The stupid thing about him being a juggernaut is you have to buy AD on him but at the same time he doesn't have a useful kit and doesn't scale well into mid-lategame into something scary like Darius/Trundle/Irelia/Jax and more and he doesn't stop them from scaling either. I believe he has become very much obsolete.

Quinn: Valor is my taxi. Even though she is at a 54% winrate she has a low pickrate. Repertoir managed to make her kit obnoxious and toxic while also destroying their identity and therefore alienating her fanbase. Even though she is very strong people hate playing her just as much as people hate playing against her. Waiting for the next rework to restore their identity and make her kit more healthy.

Taric Now that the newish as worn off and his popularity decreased to almost pre-rework we can see that Taric has become dull to play. When the rework was announced he said the aim was to keep Taric viable as a toplaner. Lies. He has no offensive spells and his passives rely on having a duallaner so he is 100% bounded to be played as support only. As support he offers a bit of everything but excels at nothing. Most of his power got compromised in his ult. Old Taric had a lot more value with his better heals, multiple and higher armor passive bonus for allies, and brought a rare skill: point and click stun with travel delay to balance out in a high paced mobility game. When I want to pick him I just ask myself why don't I pick Ali/Janna/Braum instead. The offer the same traits but with a better kit.

KogMaw He could be played as AP poke or AD hypercarry. Part of his identity got destroyed. Now he is just a machinegun. Farm, get a team to protect you, press W for steroids and that's it. Incredibly binary to play and hard to balance because of his feast or famine determined kit and extreme reliance on teammates. His popularity depends a lot on him being FotM when the meta suits him.

Skarner Riot already stated they consider his rework a failure. His mains hate his rework and are left waiting for the next. Not much to add sadly.

Ryze Failed 2x in providing with a decent rework. Despite tons of buffs/nerfs/tweaks the kit Repertoir came up with 2x turned out to be impossible to balance. He is regarded as either useless or broken. Despite a low-avarage winrate in soloQ he sometimes shows up in LCS completely dominating the game. Both reworks are considered a failure and the third is scheduled for later this year.

Ashe I believe this is the only rework that has not failed. Now more focussed as a utility marksman she has kinda become outdated since Jhin's release though. Can't say much about Ashe since I don't main her.

Nidalee After the rework she was played in every role except adc. She got various nerfs and tweaks but is still regarded as the best jungler in the game. Picked or banned a lot in LCS because of her early dominance, clear speed, map presence, mobility, poke, assassination, strong ganks, strong invade 1 vs 1, sustain and vision. For a jungler she has it all. The biggest problem is she seems to be strong from a far with her spears and mobility but at the same time she kills you with her pound in closed quarters leaving little to no weaknesses to her kit. Hitting spears makes or breaks Nidalee. Frustrating champ to play against, yet has a high skill ceiling. Therefore unavoidable nerfs will probably leave her in a dumpstered state outside of professional play.

Cassiopeia Left in ruin. I feel sorry for her mains since she has become unplayable despite of hotfixes to serve as bandaids to an inherent broken kit. Her popularity dropped by 25% from 2% average to 1.5%. Yet another example of a champ who's identity gets destroyed, mains are alienated and Riot doesn't care because her fanbase only represent a small amount of players.

Malzahar Also left in ruin. Went from underplayed champ to FotM picked or banned. His identity, everything that made him fun to play, got destroyed and the mage he once was got turned into an objective focussed petmaster jungler. As a viable jungler he is unhealthy for the game and as a laner he is toxic due to his E+W combo that resembles Yorick's lanephase. His passive makes no sense on him and is frustrating to play against. He is a toxic champ with little to no scaling potential because most of his damage is controlled by AI. He is nothing but a spawnbot. His mains have no hope but waiting for him to get nerfed beyond playable and left waiting for his next rework.

What is the balance? 10 reworks total. 5 champs completely failed. 3 champs will receive yet another rework Skarner Quinn Ryze and 2 will join soon Cassiopeia Malzahar. 3 others are either underwhelming or overwhelming and could use some serious changes Garen Nidalee KogMaw. One champs popularity has risen respectively Taric but he has become dull to play and besides his ult he adds nothing so it is just waiting for him to keep falling off. Only 1 champ, Ashe seems to be a successful rework despite of her being surpassed by Jhin now.

** Conclusion** How much longer will this community keep defending Repertoir. Figures don't lie. He sucks as a champ designer. Is it only his fault? No. It is also the fault of the PBE and Meddler for being head champ design and other Rioters who apparently lack in communication to provide useful feedback to each other. Nevertheless in the end Repertoir is still accountable for his work. When I read through all the pbe's post for each champ I do see 1 tendency. Repertoir is very prejudiced when defining core elements of champs and unilateral decides in which direction to go. Then he communicates with people on the same boat with him and simply ignores the rest. It doesn't matter to him if the guy who agrees with him has never played that champ before and the one with thousands of games played disagrees. That is how he each time manages to destroy a champs identity, core play, make them more binary, leave them in a miserable state, alienate the community members from the champ they mastered and enjoyed for years and ultimately alienate them from the game.

Enough is enough. Just because each champ he fails at only represents a small amount of the community he does ruin the game for a very dedicated and small fanbase of each said champ. Imagen if he would rework LeeSin and Lucian, the 2 most popular champs, and he would leave them in the state he left Ryze Cassiopeia Malzahar Skarner Quinn Garen . Then the boards would be too small and we would see posts about him every second.

So please, stop turning a blind eye on him and start evaluating him.

garen could use a slight buff right now, but nothing major.

hes sitting at 51% winrate with a bit of a low playrate. my guess is its partially ue to the meta facouring cc heavy ap champs and champs like brand who have a lot of % hp damage in their kits.

overall, he actually has been very stable in winrate through significant meta shifts.

is that challenger level winrate? id argue, that it still looked as bad or worse before.

at least up to plat, his winrate has actually been rather decent, and not 60% in bronze and 40% in plat anymore. so while i think hes a bit on the weak side right now, it could probably get fixed with a bit of number tuning.

If you do bad with Garen, then that's on you.

The only rework I would say didn't go well is Quinn's. The others that are in a bad state currently are like that due to numbers, not the actual champion.

I don't know about the others, but overall I'd say that Garen's rework was a good of a success as it could be (he's at a solid 50-51% winrate at three sites I checked, not sure where you got 42% from), and RiotRep did an excellent job of not only listening to feedback but also acting on it in that context (removing the self slow from his spin, W stacking in alternate game modes).

That's a hell of a lot more than you're going to get from CertainlyT, just ask Mordekaiser.

Garen had a strategic niche. He was a safepick vs snowballers like Riven/Irelia/Jax/Renekton.

I was Diamond 2 last season. Tell me what Garen's strategic niche is. When do I want to pick Garen? Please explain it to me since you seem to understand a lot more about this game than I do.

To be blunt, it's not like I wanted a Garen on my team prerework either. He was just sort of there.

actually imo the reason it turned out so well, was because repertoir did listen to feedback.

it was one of the reasons why he removed the self slow on the spin. that would have been terrible imo. people could have literally walked out of it. instead it deals slightly less damage against multiple targets which isnt as bad as not getting the damage at all.

imagine an adc actually slowing his own movement speed for auto attacking. THATS how bad the self slow would have been. his kit would have been fighting itself.

but repertoir took the feedback and changed it.

overall the increased movement speed and the ability to stick to the villain with the rage passive from cleaver is worth so much more than a bit of damage upon hitting multiple enemies.

and the damage is still not reduced too much and spinning through multiple people is still favourable and increases your dps.

I checked your accounts. I am glad my post is getting downvoted by a bunch of unranked players only replying about Garen. Just shows how useless this board is and why Riot never listens to things said here.

Only bad one was Quinn. The rest are actually fine in fact.
