The TLDR of all Yasuo Windwall QQ

Akali is SO HOT··55 votes·3,077 views

-Windwall is impassable terrain which screws over everyone in the game -Windwall has a 0 second cooldown so you can never use projectiles against Yasuo -Projectiles are literally sucked into windwall -You are forced to auto attack windwall when Yasuo uses it and not attempt to reposition and auto attack Yasuo instead -Yasuo is literally invincible when windwall is up -When Yasuo uses Windwall in teamfights your team automatically loses and you should just afk at that point

One of the problems with the windwall is that if he stands right on top of the windwall, no projectiles can hit him.

But I've seriously seen someone rage because they thought that his windwall blocked their melee auto attack.

omg i never thought of that

brb gonna go play some yasuo

I've had yasous ww my darius q's and e's. Laughed so hard.

hi im alphonse1 votes

it has no real cast time, and it's not like youre gonna have a projectile anyway, thats the equivalent of a hec missing his Q after 2 stacks (it doesnt matter)

Captain Aishi1 votes

hec actually loses mana for that so he is more punished by it in that scenario :P

Transgressor2 votes

Wouldn't surprise me, it could be a VERY situational bug.

i also dislike situations like this: yasuo is walking away from ashe, ashe ults at him, he w's in front of himself and blocks the ashe ult that is behind him.

That's because Yasuo's wall comes from the center of his model What this means is that for the first few milliseconds of the wall cast time when Yasuo is still mid-animation and the wall hasn't appeared visually, it's currently moving outwards from his model and any projectile that hits him will be blocked because the wall is technically directly on top of Yasuo

I Main Swain6 votes

they should make his windwall 1 unit thick and have it start at the end of his model.

Crowe Stalker1 votes

Like Azir does with his ult? That'd probably be worse than the current iteration. If anything the Windwall should just spawn 50-100 units in front of him so we don't see those fucking stupid nano-second center-of-model blocks.

Captain Aishi1 votes

i feel like windwall should only block projectiles coming from the opposite direction of the cast so that the yasuo player at least needs to aim the spell more carefully

I Main Swain2 votes

honestly, i dont have a problem with those last second blocks. its the blocks that arent even actually blocked at all that piss me off.

Windwall should affect both team just as bard's ult does.

Akali is SO HOT12 votes

That would have more trolling potential than both Kindred's and Bard's ult combined

More like your idiot allies who don't read patch notes start bitching as to why all the abilities they throw mindlessly into it disappear.

so you mean every player in the game?

I mean, you shouldnt use projectiles against Yasuo because windwall, mobility and his passive will make them all basically useless. He can reposition himself around the wall as well, he is pretty invincible against some team comps, its pretty fun to watch how both adc and apc cant do anything without losing 2-3 seconds running around the wall. And yeah, a teamfight is automatically lost if he places it right and your team has a lot of ranged spells.

DrNova6 votes

Windwall is too strong for the sole reason of negating an entire ult BT touching a tiny part of it.

its low enough at max rank that he can block your important skill every time or every other time

-You are forced to auto attack windwall when Yasuo uses it and not attempt to reposition and auto attack Yasuo instead

yasuo e's through you and keeps walking around the wall to not be damaged while its up

-When Yasuo uses Windwall in teamfights your team automatically loses and you should just afk at that point

if he is good he will block important projectiles so yea basically

You never played a skillshot mage aganst a decent Yasuo, have you ?

I never ragequitted in my entiere life, nor got any sort of punishment, but when I prefer to get my nails slowly ripped off then playing against Yasuo with stuff like Lux or Veigar.

I know, LeBlanc for example is maybe a better counter and is frustrating too, but Yasuo is just to bs, sorry for all Yasuo fans, but sometimes I want to ragequit (What I dont do, cause it would be egoistic). His wall may have a long cooldown but while it's cooldown is off, he has a passive shield, which in lane mostly absorb an entiere skillshot damage wise. But only that if you succed to hit him, with his 0.5 sec dash.

And when the projectile finally reaches him when his shield is down from the about 5 sec CD, then comes that wall....

Also, Veigar vs Yasuo is mostly like:

Come in lane try lasthit with Q while Yasuo dashes around and tries to Q you You towerhug, cause else Yasuo will dash to you and tear you apart, cause E and W is never going to hit him You can finally partially lasthit under tower Cannon creep left, finger on your Q Wind wall Q gets completly denied

Not talknig with Veigar's ult, to place it you need a miracle

Transgressor1 votes

Unless you got counterpicked, intentionally taking Veigar or Lux vs a Yasuo is butt-fucking stupid.

Borbland2 votes

Normals and Teambuilder, you know ? Rankeds arent all league. And as you said, you can get counterpicked, so facing a Yasuo is fairly common if I pick before.

Also, your list doesnt include stuff like Malzahar or even Zyra that counters Yasuo fairly well.

Shield Villain2 votes

You know you can pop it like a banshee's veil, right? It's not an active shield that just absorbs all that damage during that time. It's a bubble that blocks initial damage. So you can auto him to get that this down, then all in him.

Borbland3 votes

Auto him means getting close to him. Getting close to him, means getting dashed over and eating a 250 damage crit early.

You're right in the absolute, but in real, this is really hard, if you succed to auto him and pop his shield, now he will go back a bit, and come back with a new shield shortly after. He can even continue farming, since he can put his wall to cover himself while his shield is down.

Also, if Yasuo rushes a BortK, I now can forget doing damage to him for ever. He will just sustain him self till his full again.

If you think this is how Yasuo actually plays, then you've never played him before. Amazing how many people I run into who never play Yasuo but can tell me exactly how he works.

Melledoneus3 votes

When you have a Nami, you can be pretty damn sure she can't engage against a team with Yasuo in their midst.

Wakamune1 votes

I don't think Tidal wave is a good formal engage because it's slow but yes, it makes peeling and engaging smaller teamfights more complicated on her part.

Kingopants3 votes

The Real issue is his Windwalls is his ult. I mean his ults up basically all the time so no point keeping track of that but you have to really play teamfights around the cooldown of that wall. Especially late game where the things a lane wide anyway.

Also the fact it's double sided is super bull as well since when a Yasuo jumps a ranged character he can literally dump the windwall right ontop of you and it doesn't matter that he is in Melee range the wall will delete all your attacks before they appear.

Lastly about the instant cast, The wall will break all Projectiles in front of Yasuo before expanding to full size, So he can wall really late and it will still protect him.

ninjaIRL 3 votes

It doesn't really matter if you reposition yourself so that you can hit past the windwall. Yasuo has enough mobility to reposition himself around the windwall to prevent anyone from autoattacking him. The moment you run is the moment he throws out a Q or dashes to you giving him an advantage damage wise.

Hyrum Graff3 votes

No, my complaint is that it has neither a cast time nor a delay, so when I'm playing almost any mage I cannot ult until Yasuo uses his wind wall.

So yes, if Yas never casts his wind wall except as a twitch reflex, he only has 3 abilities. I also only have 3 abilities, because I can't ult until he wind walls.

tl;dr wind wall takes away my ability to be proactive.

deadlychuck3 votes

it also doesn't help that a single ability makes yasuo a complete hard counter to some champions, by simply blocking 100% of their kit.

I'd love to see Yasuo get a smoother build path (non of this tri-force non-sense) in exchange for Windwall having a legit opportunity cost (maybe they make flow a legit resource and have wind wall cost flow?).

Transgressor2 votes

I'd love ALL sorts of buffs to anything regarding Yasuo, once his cancerous double-crit passive gets removed.

LittleBlast3 votes

His double crit passive is the only thing keeping him from becoming a jax 2.0, build triforce+bork then tank.

Transgressor2 votes

DIdn't know jax's Q counted as an AA ranged skillshot. Didn't know jax had a windwall. Didn't know jax got armor pen. Didn't know yasuo got mr+armor when ulting. Didn't know yasuo got ramping up attack speed. Didn't know jax had potentially infinite dashes. Didn't know jax got a shield just by moving. Didn't know jax's Q procced on-hit effects, and its cooldown scaled with attacspeed. Didn't know yasuo could build bruiser/tank/offtank/fullap/full lifesteal.

Slamurai Jack1 votes

Just because you don't get the comparison doesn't make it invalid.

Transgressor1 votes

Pssst, let's compare a spoon, to a bulldozer. They both scoop stuff, am I right? Oh, they are metallic too.

....

You can't compare different things, You can't compare apples to oranges. Just because these are the NA Boards and 9/10 people are crying bronze with no knowledge of the game, doesn't mean you get to twist the laws of reality to validate your arguments. Not only you, but everybody else, including me.

Slamurai Jack1 votes

The point is that they would have identical builds with very similar anti-carry playstyles. Except Yasuo would be even more oppressive than Jax was because he's manaless. The only way Yasuo is a carry and not a bruiser is if he has a steroid that requires him to build stats to get stats and the only way Yasuo's laning isn't completely unstoppable is if his base damages are garbage but scale well with items.

Transgressor1 votes

And here we come up with 2 options: either Jax's design is archaic, or Yasuo's fundamentally trash. I'll lean towards the latter.

Now, see how much difference wording properly does? Anyhow, I personaly think that because of his kit, he'd still be the hypermobile glasscanon he is now. The tankyness would come from a proper shield passive, perhaps he could gain flow through dashes again. Perhaps now flow could be used to empower his attacks as well. There you go, I came up with a "ferocity" like steroid, and he gets to keep his double passive.

The reason why his laning phase is as it is, it's because his doublecrit is taking way too much powerbudget. Lets say, if he didn't have a 100% crit chance with a 250% damage increase, which pretty much means literally all his physical damage is amplified by 250%, he'd actually have stats left that could be allocated somewhere else. Perhaps, that 250% increase, could go to empowered tornadoes when thrown at max flow, or perhaps a shield that procs twice, or perhaps dashes with mixed damage.

Lastly, one more thing. His ult can be popped from the stupidest of things, and his windwall blacks 90% of the game's abilities and 100% of ranged basic attacks. Power budget there as well.

PS. winning the lane/trade randomly(e.g. landing a crit) has never been fun on the recieving end, and doesn't include skill in any way from the broadcasting side.

Slamurai Jack2 votes

Those all just sound like a lot of ways to increase his utility while lowering his carrying power, again making him into a bruiser. Riot has made it very clear; Yasuo is a melee carry and needs to be built as such. It's the only way he can be viable and not be completely cancerous. There's a reason Riot has nerfed his shield over and over but never his scaling. He's a carry. Riot really likes Yasuo conceptually and so do I, and I'm glad they're willing to try and make it work rather than give in to the whiners and homogenize him with the rest of the cast. Yasuo is a very unique champion and what makes him unique is seen as unfair by tons of ignorant people. That doesn't mean we should change him to placate those people.

Transgressor1 votes

Cassiopeia Garen Darius Mordekaiser Skarner Zilean Sona Soraka Kassadin got homogenized, why's YasuOP any special?

And with that, I'll be taking ignorance, slap it on my Lissandra, and shit on all the YasuOP pro wannabes, since they don't placate me and my need for counterplay.

At least they fucked my Kassadin in the ass, to appease to ignorant people who thought what made him unique was unfair. So I can't complain, because they turned him into a "mobile apbruiser/antimage/caster"...

hahahahahhahaha.... :/

I'm off, I'm way past my bed time, have a good one mister o/

Slamurai Jack2 votes

What? That list of champions are among the most unique in the game, especially Soraka, Mordekaiser, and Skarner. The fuck are you talking about?

Yasuo's windwall is drawing the last piece of Exodia when you have 4 pieces in your hand already.

Partholonian2 votes

It doesn't have a 0 second cooldown, but it does have a 0 second cast time. So you can only use projectiles Yasuo doesn't care about, or else they'll be canceled AFTER you use them. Yasuo has really strong counterplay to projectiles, but the projectile user has no counterplay to Yasuo, they're already committed to their projectile before the wall even goes up.
