So how do I climb if I'm a support main?

Getting scared of Ranked just by placements because my teams seem to be either toxic or solving and constructing 1:1 scale rocket science while playing. In the end they all blame me anyways.

How am I supposed to climb?

What are your Support mains?

Brand Velkoz Zyra Xerath

These guys can function as carries when you need them and make plays with plenty of damage to back it all up.

Galio

This guy counters the above and has massive utility that sets up even the dumbest teams for easy kills or lets you kill steal and get fed and roam the map with ult, effectively giving you a second jungler with multiple forms of CC that does %hp damage and is naturally tanky.

I think they mean an actual dedicated support that is only ever really been meta as a support and likely only ever will be...

Alistar Bard Blitzcrank Braum Janna Leona Lulu Nami Rakan Pyke Sona Soraka Taric Thresh and sorta Zilean

If you don't trust your teams to work with you then I suggest: Blitzcrank Braum Janna Leona Pyke Sona Zilean

you still need at least one competent team member to deal the damage you cant where it needs to be when it needs to be however these champions can either spoon feed kills when played well or can be so effective at protecting their allies that those allies don't even need to think. Then just get to a skill level where most players will grab the god damned lantern when thresh throws it.

I feel like I'm gonna have to play a lot more Pyke and Soraka just to not have to be a cog that stops when my team can't fight.

as someone whose played nothing but the fish Nami since they were a silver scrub in season 3, i can tell u u can play watever u want in watever role u want once u get the right mentality.

First off don't play ranked just to watch ur lp go up. You'll rank up eventually no need to hound urself about it.

U should focus on improving ur micro and ur macro play as u climb. Work on ward placement, learn to press tab and watch for item/ lvl changes in ur team and the enemies. Understand when to rotate/ roam as needed. Try to synchronize ur back with ur adc or roam when they back and u don't need/ cant buy anything.

Understan win conditions, what ur role is to the team, and what every other champiuons role/ abilities are in teamfights.

Basically, slowly learn the game and better urself. Cux u can't change people. If your team feeds 5 games in a row, either take a break or buck up and understand u cant take their keybaord and play for them.

And let me assure u...it doesnt get better the higher elo u get. You can only change urself

So mute the jerks, ignore the idiots, and focus on how u can help ur team to a win the best way u can

Well I went from silver to gold as Soraka in Flex and Nami is solo/duos last season. I'm going to reverse them this season when I get the time.

It's not impossible. Find the person you really need to support and just try to keep the others from straying away from him.

Try and figure out what adc, that your adc will play and find a support that synergizes well with them. For example Braum Lucian or Kalista and Thresh or Alistar. Strong synergies result in a potentially easy lane. However If you don't have a wide support pool just play your most comfortable support pick. Don't focus too much on counter picking their support if you don't have many hours on all the support. Gotta assert yourself in lane. Play to passively and you will just get walked on. No where or when to ward.
