That's not what the champs are for, you don't buy them because you want to show off and feel better about yourself like skins, you buy them because you want to use them to even play this game.

If THAT is the kind of intent for making acquiring champs much harder than before with the BE where playing 1 game per day is almost no different to playing 10 games per day, then Riot really isn't thinking straight for the time being I would say.

Buying champs should be like earning for unlocks to use different types of guns in a f2p FPS; no one thinks it's reasonable to make unlocking merely different TYPES of guns the same as unlocking fucking GOLD skins or some shit, but then for some reason, Riot currently thinks that's the case.

Riot has literally missed the point of their own game. And that's not looking good, at all.

Like, literally, I quitted Hearthstone very quickly as soon as I realised the entire "free-to-play" model was gated so much it essentially is a money scamming scheme forcing you to pay up lots, either with your money or your life (let's not get into how exactly it works, but let's just say it has both a daily grind hard cap and only rewards winners in a game where pay-to-win is legitimately a thing; which means f2p'ers have to try BOTH really hard and put in TONS of hrs to get a meager and hard-capped amount of "free" content, and even then, it's fucking decided by RNG), to even hope to be competitive in the bottom tiers, hell forget about competitiveness, we're talking about having any cards for that matter. Does League really have to take that direction, too?

If by another chance, they just want the game to be one where you have to purchase every single champion with real-money or something like that, then like a random FPS game where you have to literally purchase every single gun with real money, that clearly just won't do well in the eyes of the players, ESPECIALLY when the game has had a FAR better free-to-play model for the last many years until just now.

You have to be trolling, but I'll use that troll as a platform anyway:

Let's be real, earning your champs is NOT an accomplishment that gives a sense of pride, and should not for some reason be seen as such. It just doesn't. Because the grind to get your champ is just trying to get past the padding to access the content that should otherwise be openly accessible in the first place, that is only not so because the base game is f2p hence it has an excuse to do this kind of thing (but then you now also double down and say that grinding content now becomes worse, like, what is the fucking meaning of this?). When you get the champ you grind for, you're not fucking mission accomplished or some shit, you're just about to start because you most likely either want to or might use them at some point (not everyone is already at the stage of just collecting the champs as a hobby where they have one or a few permanent mains and will never change anymore, you know); champs aren't by definition trophies, they are different tools to interact the game with.

It also makes NO sense when the game has had a much more lenient grinding system and suddenly it becomes all "tight" with grinding suddenly becoming several times harder, or at least feels several times harder which drives you off into buying RP more often than not, because supposedly we want some "accomplishments" for fucking essentials that took less grinding to get to for the past previous many years? No, that doesn't give pride, it only makes us all feel about the same amount of achievement as seeing inflation continues to rise where cost-of-living is only growing while your wages and the value per dollar are only shrinking with work hours getting longer, because all it does is giving the players a slap in the face.

Let's be honest who doesn't feel like they've finally accomplished something in their life after steamrolling 3v3 bots for 2 days straight without sleeping and then get 15 champs and level 30 for 10$ from xp boost from a free2play game
