Lost Top Lane as Trundle against Lee Sin

I went to LoL counter to look over Lee's counters, and it lists Trundle as a counter to him in top lane (I didn't know that at the time I picked him, I just decided to pick someone with inherent sustain to weather through pokes). I lost pretty badly to him in my game though because he just hit his attack speed debuff and out-traded me on autos when I tried to CS. I spent the whole lane pushed into tower and getting poked down.

If Trundle is supposed to counter Lee, what could I have done differently?

Part of the reason Trundle is a counter is because he has higher scaling. Sustain through lane, then steal all his resistances and his AD and his life force later on when you crap on him.

Lee Sin hasn't had an attack speed debuff since patch 4.13.

Trundle outscales Lee Sin by a large margin and is a better duelist later in the game, while Lee Sin is strong early and falls off later.

I would recommend starting with Cloth5 (and possibly Teleport) and focus on farming. Trundle has a lot of durability and sustain, so you should be able to deny Lee Sin the kills he needs to snowball ahead of you. I would recommend against starting with Doran's Blade because Lee Sin's early game is stronger and it doesn't give you enough sustain.

You probably want to get some early defenses (such as Warden's Mail or Giant's Belt) before building your Blade of the Ruined King if you are having trouble in lane. If you are doing well in lane, Ninja Tabi and Bilgewater Cutless should let you win most fights and sustain through laning phase.

Also, according to the match history you apparently had Percent Health Quints and Magic Pen marks, which don't really do much for Trundle. I'd recommend using some combination of AD, Attack Speed, Lifesteal, and Armor Pen in runes.

You should probably grab some AD in the offensive tree as well, using either 9/21/0 or 21/9/0 masteries.

Aaarrgh, my bad on the attack speed debuff. I forgot they removed that, and I don't really play Lee.

Yeah, those masteries were a mistake. I had to scrabble at the last second to pick a top laner because I was 5th pick and the 4th pick wasn't communicating at all where he was going with the last two slots. I had set up my hard tank runes to go Support, then had to go Top at the last second. Didn't change them over to more offensive setups in time.

For Trundle I would normally use my AD Bruiser masteries (9/21/0) and my Reaver runes (armor mr and AD reds and quints). Possibly Fighter if I want the move speed quints instead.

Of course Lee Sin wins early. There are very few champions that can outdo Lee Sin early game, especially a good Lee sin. Trundle scales better into late game and even if he's not fed can still contribute to his team's win (if played well).
