Nashor's tooth needs a buff

15 damage on hit is. . really weak.

Even Kayle players go for Hurricane before Nashors.

The item is 139.94% gold efficient by itself. It goes up in gold efficiency by 12.5% for every 100 ability power after that. I can link you plenty of high elo kayle players that rush nashoors first item. Its 27 on hit with the AP it gives itself.

To give you an idea how efficient it is, item 3165 is 112.7% Gold efficient.

The item is fine imo

That's pretty gold efficient if you ask me. Then again, only specific champs like Kayle, pre-nerf/s Azir (and to a certain extent, Teemo, TF and Diana) can actually make use of the item pretty well.

On other mages.... Let's say, not so well.

power of evil is actually building it on orianna and lux. it's not the best on them, but it's viable on them as well.

I could also argue that Nashor's would seem good for a Kass with a duelist-focused build, but I haven't seen it.

Technically you do 27 on hit damage minimum because of the item's built in AP.

I think the biggest issue for the item is a lack of complementary items. Wit's End doesn't give AP. Hurricane's crit doesn't work with nashor's. LB doesn't offer attack speed. Gunblade would be your only choice for on-hit sustain, which puts you into a weird build for most mages. There's no % health magic damage on hit to compliment it.

Now compound that with most AP champs can't really use nashor's that well.

if nashor's tooth gets stronger, baron would get stronger right alongside it.

No Kayle goes Runaans before Nashors. None. Ever. The fact that you would even suggest that they do is insulting.

Although in some cases, Nashor's can be left as a second item.

I often rush Guinsoo's before Nashor's, but mainly because i run TLD and go for Q max first.

nashors isn't weak. the on hit ap playstyle just doesn't work in current league. because crit is superior. even ad on hit is better

lets nerf it instead

I've been saying it needs a buff for years.

It's cost efficiency is just too overloaded. (It's pricey for not giving you quite what you want from it.) It's a bit too high-functioning as a CDR tool when people generally would buy it for the AP on-hit. I think that we should just switch the item 1052 > item 3108 and give it a Bami's Cinder-type base item. (Say 5 + 5% AP upgrading into Nashor's 15+15% AP on-hit)

After that, create an alternate Stinger item upgrade that creates a 20% CDR variant without the on-hit. item 3101 Basically give it an effect that would benefit from faster casting and attacks, so a stack-based item (2 types of stacks, one for every auto and one for every spell cast.) Make both a small number like 3, something happens when both reach 3.

People would argue that they want all the stats, but for the longest time the stats have simply been too much, creating a cost--to-output issue. Without AP, the on-hit means little. (80 AP translates into 12 damage, total of 27 pre-mitigated magic damage on-hit for 3000 gold. BF sword gives 40 pre-mitigated physical damage for 1300 gold as comparison.) You end up paying for raw stats instead of the effect that you want to apply.

It requires 3 hits to reach .45 AP ratio, which Lich's deals more than at .5 AP in 1 auto after a spellcast. Meaning not only is the actual dps conversion from AP over-cost, but also irrelevant. It only primarily works on champs like Teemo and Kayle who already have an AP-to-on-hit ratio so that it doubly scales with that skill via the AS and AP. CDR becomes the quickly irrelevant stat when breaking down that interaction that is the core of the item. Thus, why I'd cut the 10% CDR out to recost it as a more cost-efficient buy during an earlier game, while also giving it that pre-item that allows it to have early-game build power which you can transition into it's late-game full item.

what is really need it is another AS ap item, NT s practically the only one, that is why Kayle has to buy Runnan , lacking on options.

buff wits end to a 3000 gold item? :D

guinsoo works really well in Kayle but not for Diana, Azir and Orianna.

I'm not sure it needs straight buffs, it's actually quite strong on it's own, but it certainly can use some changes to be appealing to more champs rather than just kayle, teemo and Azir.

Imo stinger should grant 3%ms, and nashors 5%ms, cause magic-on-hit dps need ms as much as crit users do and they all have ms on their zeal shit. It would also fit with stinger building into trinity. But the most important change imo would be changeing the on-hit on nashors from 15+0.15AP to 17+lvl+0.1AP(so at 18 its 35+0.1ap) so it's more usfull on low-ap builts. It would still be good for AP-heavy builts, the break-even point at 18 would be at 400AP. This would especially benefit melees, as they usually need to build more tanky if they want an dps built, else goeing for burst would be the better choice, which means less room for raw ap. It also would give it more synergie with WIt's end and Huricane, which is one off the item's biggest issues: the lack of synergie with other items.

I personally also wouldn't mind some manasustain on it once again, maybe some small manarestore on-hit that is increased vs champs with some small goldcost increase to compensate. If you go for AS+CDR, you go for extendet fights where dps is valued higher than burst. However, for extendet fights you need more mana, especially with cdr, as you will use more spell rotations.

nashors sucks its such a waste of gold lol

AmetDeCrypt1 votes

well don't buy It first. wait until you get other ap items to scale with it doy. or just be lulu and have nashor's in your passive done and done.

3000 feels like a lot, but idk im bad.

I think the problem is that it's a very niche item. Just look at the stats. AP, ATK speed, CDR with on-hit magic damage passive. Who's it for? It is meant for auto-attacking mages (hence the AP) and on-hit builds. It's just a really odd item to build.TBH, no one really wants to pay for a passive like that, especially if it costs 1000g. At the very least, they should replace item 3101 with item 1043, maybe implement the "adaptive" so it does magic damage if your AP > AD. The item doesn't need 20% CDR because almost every item you can buy has 10% CDR on it. Having the on-hit damage earlier in the form of Recurve bow would be much better and would rather see more power elsewhere than on CDR.

The item itself is fine. The issue is the lack of champions with kits that can utilize it. It's good on Kayle. It's fine on Azir. It's OK on Diana, though I suspect it will be worse after her upcoming changes. That's it. No one else can build it. Teemo would be the only other possibility, but there are much better items for him.

I only buy nashors on teemo for the ap.

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

well if they buff it they then end up buffing kayle who really doesnt need a buff that badly

I find Ezreal Corki are able to use it quite well.

I've seen a few Ekko building it.
