i wish we could stop the narrative that "ADC's just right click"
you want to try just right clicking an assassin or tank? Just watch as they cc/burst you to death. You won't get shit done if your mentality is "ADC's just right click".

Becuase you do, your main dmg is just a right click, while almost every other class has a requirment of skills or skillshots having to be hit to do full dmg. I am not saying that adc, are not hard, look at draven he is tough as shit, but it doesnt take away from the fact that it is mostly right clicking.

Your main damage is right clicking, but if you don't attack move and reposition, you're just going to get bursted down or CC'd. That's why there's a difference between a mediocre vayne and a pro vayne.
except, the same goes for ANY other squishy champ... except a lot of those other champs ALSO have to hit skillshots to be useful on TOP of repositioning. Kiting is not hard compared to landing skill shots.
You can move and reposition by right clicking as well.
You can move and reposition by right clicking as well.
Any decent ADC won't right click, they'll use attack move.
It depends entirely on what you're looking to do. If you're looking to attack the first thing that crosses your path, then you attack move. If you're looking to reposition you don't want to attack move, you want to move.
It's apparently a trend to hate on ADC's because they're a powerful class. Hence the bs "muh right click" stereotype. Little do they know that there's more to it like kiting, positioning, skill shots, etc.
I just wish that other classes could bot lane too tbh
The only way to make mages go bot would be to stop making them level dependent. Gut their base damage and buff the fuck out of their scalings so that like ADC's they need gold not levels. That's all they have to do.
Why not just make some mages like that?
Some marksman are better off with levels than others, allowing them to solo lane on equal footing with other laners. Ezreal, Graves, Quinn, Mage Fortune, hell even Lucian from time to time.
They don't have to make every mage scale off items more than levels, but they could definitely design a few hypercarries like so.
Then tell that to Riot, they make the game.

Outside of Jax, Voli and similar still not reworked champions everyone has to position/dodge stuff and try to land skill shots. You should have known this, if you have unlocked/ played enough champs. The whole - ADC is more micro-intensive narrative is simply not the truth.
But it is the truth. The margin for error of someone with 1.5k hp and 60 ar/32mr is much smaller than someone with 3k hp and 250 armor/120 mr.
A tank or a bruiser isn't going to instantly die if caught by an Ahri charm. There is a really good chance that an ADC will.
Bruisers and some tanks also tend to have better CC or mobility to deal with enemies in a close up 1v1 scenario too, but that varies heavily based off the champs in question.
not that much in the current state if the game. Damage and CC are high enough to die from a single mistep as bruiser aswell, and as a melee it's harder to navigate around all the shit in a teamfight and still do something you're own. It's only 1v1 when tanky dudes really have some more room for error, and most lack defensive mobillity so they have issues should the 1v1 really turn against them or should it suddenly no longer be a 1v1.
You have to admit though that the kiting part is made rather easy because they are usually given a combination of selfpeel/mobility/cc and get access to the largest amount of % increase on movement
That does kinda remove a lot of the skill expression in the kiting department
Then again there isn't much skill expression to be found in Yi, Irelia or Jax point and clicking on you to get into your face either so there is that Which does kinda make the point for the necessity of such things on adc's But then the Garen, Darius and Trundle hate train follows since they can't point and click on your butt to go slap that booty
I mean shit is complex but imho more skill expression all around is desirable i think that would help
People will stop having that motto as soon as they stop having the "Supports just heal" "tanks just stand" mentality aswell
You wanna see some right clicking?
There ya go
I'm gonna presume you were fed.
Lethal Tempo also makes kiting harder imo.
The higher your AS the harder it is to actually kite.
I'll contribute a clip as well.
If I stood still and "brainlessly" right clicked as people say the role is revolved around I wouldn't have won that fight.
So I had to
plus R and still BARELY won the fight.
Yes, ADC is a brainless right click role indeed.
[slayer-jinx-unamused]
It is.
ADC is the only role you can play where most of the champs can one shot with you putting in no effort.
Name a role where you can stand still in a team fight and still do the most damage.
I'm waiting.
lol That one hit on a minion there. He wasn't even right-clicking, that was just him standing there and his character automatically hitting whatever is in range.
wait lmao I just realized that lmao.
Attack move OP

Twitch is one of those that benefits the most from coming out of camo and just ulting and right clicking. Try doing that shit on vayne and watch as everyone jumps on you.

Look at my clip compared to his.
He thinks standing still and ulting 3 clueless players is an "outplay"
The fact Hecarim and Lux just walked up to him proves how clueless his opponents were.
Hecarim even had R ready...
In my clip both me and the riven had similar amounts of items and similar KDA's so there was no "oh but Vayne was fed"
tumbles toward enemy
[sg-janna]
VAYNE NO
It's such a baseless bullshit argument with literally no purpose but to insult ADC players. If I say "Mages just press QWER" its literally the same thing, a completely baseless statement that makes 0 sense
Not much of a point in paying attention to those who make such a statement, since they're likely just salty. But then again, they're salty for a reason - you can't really do anything to avoid the damage from their clicking, other than by just staying away from them or building armor. Ranged autos aren't like skillshots that you can dodge, nor can you kite them - the ADCs are the ones kiting you. It's still more about salt than an actual issue, but there's sillier complaints than this.
Don't forget the part where range is apparantly the most important stat, even though it feels that 80% of the champion pool have a dash of some kind making your range or kiting pointless due to having really low mobility lol.
Not like marksmen have cc and escapes/dashes too right?

so yeah you're preeeettty much right
Because of supports and support items.
One of the largest complaints for this season has been regarding supports and their ability to turn ADC's into tanks.
ADC's have been able to avoid moving, and not have to input, because Janna and Lulu can turn them into literal tanks with the click of a few buttons; so they can survive a stunlock, stand there, and drain tank multiple enemies / huge sources of burst. This isn't cool because it removes what input ADC's have, which is the kiting / orbwalking micro aspect.
Oh god yes it requires a great deal more than just right clicking.
[sg-janna]
Especially when the enemy has an assassin. Hard to kite the enemy when my instincts are constantly telling me to bitch out.
The mentality came into being in the Tristana/Twitch/Kog meta.
No one is going to say that about Lucian, Jhin, Ez or Kalista, which belong in the more demanding part of the class.
Every role has it: Top - Riven vs Tryn Jungle - Lee vs Udyr Mid - Azir vs Malz Adc - Kalista vs Tristana Support - Bard vs Lulu
And every role becomes 'the easiest role in League' when the easier champs dominate the meta.
I dont find Ez that demanding. Lucian is more so. Not gonna say Im great on either but Lucian's short range makes him quite vurnerable to long range poke and bruisers at the same time. However he has decent survivability built into his kit, with the extra movement speed and a dash. His current build path also adds to that with BOTRK and Black Cleaver giving him the edge.
You're right, sometimes they attack move click, move, and cast abilities too. Oh, and placing wards, they do that sometimes. No active items though, that's strange, maybe stopwatch if they take that rune, but stopwatch meta is over.

in ARAM sometimes it is just right click, get /3 supports and you just right click your way to victory, done so before and it's won me the game
Of course there is a little more to it but its more often than not ur support doing the work and not u.

I feel your pain somewhat. I mean I don't play ADC (not because they were/are/might have been broken. I just don't liek bot lane in general), but I DO play Malz. The number of people who say "you just ult them" like it's always there, does decent damage and he has 1 shot potential. Upvoted out of empathy
as someone who switched to adc this year
all you fucking do is right click.
guess what positioning and kiting is? FUCKING RIGHT CLICKING
unless you are playing corki ezreal or lucian all you do is right click.

Look's like the only ADC you play is jhin. Try playing vayne, when you're right clicking, trying to land a condemn, press q to position and using it when you ult and on top of that kiting.
Just gotta wait for them ezreal buffs then you will get 2 weeks without the right click complaint

Yeah then people will be like. "Ezreal takes skill because he's skill shot based"
I mean Ezreal does take skill, but not because he's skill shot based. His kit design is unique from pretty much all ADC.
Just gotta wait for them ezreal buffs then you will get 2 weeks without the right click complaint
OP.GG is still reporting that Ezreal has 52% win rate with an almost 49% play rate.
kiting is huge for adcs, which is a difficult mechanic to master at first, esp at high AS, unless you configure your keys out right (for me i have "player attack move click" (IMPORTANT BUTTON FOR KITING! this allows you to automatically AA the closest target to your cursor) as space bar so i space right click back space right click back, its easier and more accurate than right clicking target right clicking back right click target right click back. i also like to use Target Champions only button as well, so if i am kiting and im around minions, this will also allow you to only hit the champion, so it makes kiting overall so much easier)
after all,
"A moving target lives longer"

Stutter stepping is not hard.
Stutter stepping is not hard.
well i mean if you're doing it for a first time and dont normally play adcs its a bit difficlt at first. took me a few days of practice tool to get the grasp of it. i was talking about if its your very first time doing it, it's a bit tricky to get the rhythm and pattern esp at high attack speeds.
As a non-adc player I gotta say I agree. Tried playing marksmen last week and umm, it didn't go well XD
There's a lot of skill involved in positioning and managing risks. Being squishy and vulnerable to CC makes it a lot worse when you slip up.
Well the only way to get rid of that narrative is to load more of their power into their abilties and give them windows of power
I mean they are called attack damage carries for a reason
The bulk of what they do is rightclick it isn't really anything special or spectacular it's a rather boring situation Not saying there isn't skill involved though just that they click on people to do their thing for the most part, not really the most interactive kind of game play if you ask me.

I mean there's a hell of a lot more interaction than just press r and jumping on your opponent and getting a kill from it.
Well to be fair He literally does the exact same thing, sort of, just a bit faster.
