This was a few weeks ago but I saw everyone else talking about it too.
I love off-meta, do it all the time. I'm playing my Jinx supp and chill.
Plat ADC I'm put with, alongside the rest of my teammates being in silver.
I don't play Ranked, and didn't complete my placements so it suspects me in Iron 2.
We won the match but the enemy team said the same thing: "Why are we matched against a Plat?"

Stray Kat2 votesIt's a normal match, not ranked. If you want your rank to matter for matchmaking, you play ranked.
Normals are meant for people to be able to play without limitations - Iron 4 can queue with their Challenger friends if they so choose. Rank isn't used to determine who you match with in normals, nor should it be - That's the entire point of Unranked queues.
Teh Song1 votesrank is not mmr, it's not used for matchmaking norms and ranked have seperate mmrs that plat was probably in a premade with one of your silvers
