Block a Spell with Banshee's? You get hit with Luden's, Scorch, and Comet/Aery anyway.

The result at level 9? 187.35 (+30% AP) damage if they have Comet, and 148.53 (+20% AP) if they have Aery. Banshee's is already weak enough in soloQ, Why are Luden's and Scorch allowed to chain into eachother/comet/Aery, and be procced even if blocked? Also since the effects of Luden's and Scorch are delayed, they effectively give Aery comet a shorter cooldown as you can hit the spells a couple seconds early and still get the proc

Imagine playing Malzahar and all of that pops your entire passive, along with auto-attacks that everyone has longer range than him and higher movement speed than him as well. :)

Banshee's Veil is way too weak sadly, because of the nonsense meta. Much the same with Malzahar's passive.

IMO what's even worse is when a Luden's proc or comet on someone else pops your spell shield. I don't think it should be popped by Luden's or comet

Some Spells don't even trip Banshee's, and bypass it altogether.

Kind of fun to be Morgana in that way...

As an ARAM OTP, I don't bother with Banshee, ever.

The reason is simple: I dodge Mark/Dash so it hits a minion nearby me; the ensuing splash damage from Luden's Echo hits me and procs Banshee - I now don't have a spell shield for 40 seconds.

Riot needs to remove spell effects from ludens/runic. you already mentioned scorch und keystones, but it goes even further: it procs rylais and liandrys. wanna lose 15% of your hp? just stand next to a minion (the range needs a heavy nerf too) watch how a missed skillshot from highskill cap mages still hits you! mages need buffs to their kits and nerfs to their items. their items are so overtuned, it isnt funny anymore. remove spell effects from ludens, nerf the % pen on void. mages are so item dependent. get gold and be the strongest class in the game or dont get gold and be completly useless. tanks/bruisers atleast offer basestats, most assassines can still deal a good portion of a squichy with enough lvl. remember how op aftershock liss was? exept she was not, she was just best in slot, while being less item dependent.

As someone who semi often uses Ludens's, Comet and Aery...I find that to be stupid af. The spell was blocked, the after effect shouldn't take place.

Comet and Scorch combined are a poor man Deathfire Torch which was the best balanced rune in the game.

Luden Echo as a first item purchase, has always been ridiculous, yet Riot doesn't care. I read their changes when they changed it up, and most of the changes done to mages and the AP itemization was contradictory, so they had no idea what the hell they were doing.

Kinda want to point out, Malzahar's passive doesn't block ALL of the damage. It reduces 90% of the damage, so you still take some damage from a spell, which would still proc Comet/Aery/Scorch/Luden's.

However if the spell is blocked with banshee's/a spell shield then the other stuff shouldn't proc. What's the point of having it block a spell if it's not going to block everything?

Oh, right... because it's "not part of the spell so it still procs." Even though all that stuff requires a spell to hit and blocking a spell basically cancels it out.

My favorite is when they dodge a skillshot, but you hit a minion and Luden's procs and breaks their banshees anyways.
