Why is it everyone hates Lee?

I mean he has an average of a 46% WR, he has a 2% ban rate.

In Master and higher his win rate, even with a 30% pick rate, hits as low as 30% several times in a week.

I mean how strong is he really. The only thing he has is his early game damage and mobility. He only gets beefy if he builds bruiser like every other tank jungler. To me he honestly feels extremely average in all regard late game. He has no strengths but he does have a weak team fight. But his early game is snowball or snowball others or go home.

He has had his sustained nerfed over several patches (S3 and S4) and even his utility. He is only in the jungle right now to get fed off the overextended enemy lanes and to counter jungle weaker jungles which can be stopped with good team coordination. His ability to clear the jungle before hydra is poor (but then again anyone who builds a hydra can clear the jungle fast if they scale off it). And if he is power farming after getting hydra he is wasting his window to get ahead. If he decides to go sustain he loses his early game damage, but hey the person struggling to farm the jungle should sit in there all game right?

The only thing I have questioned while playing as him and against him is why his E does magic damage and not physical. It hurts counter building to him and very few Lee's even build large amounts of armor pen to deal with tanks or squishies meaning it wouldn't touch his damage. If anything it would give people a little bit of a chance against him because they don't need 2 resistance items to reduce his damage.

I understand its hard to kill Lee, but the thing is if he is running you shouldn't be chasing him. If you run after him through the vision he just put down to escape then get gang banged by his team, you deserved to die. And if you take away ward hopping or damage he will get other utilities or even more damage. I don't think you want Lee to have a better early game or have a late game. That would make him a monster.

Tell me what would he do without ward hoping. What would he do if he did no damage? What is his role then? Just run around and try to act like Mundo the whole game? Build full tank and just run around like an actual blind person in a team fight because he has no damage or utility to back him up and hope that people focus him? The latter is in all honesty what it sounds like the player base wants.

They pick Lee because he is versatile not because he is strong. Versatility and strength are 2 seperate things. Lee can pull of multiple roles because the way his is designed. Meaning that even when he is not necessarily good for a comp he can still pull focus or even peel if needed.

He has no real strength in late game past a 3 or more person ult. He is picked because the LCS matches tend to not get to late game. They reach mid game and are generally decided by then. Right in Lee's fall off period. And with all the snowball changes in the last few patches I expect the matches to end even faster. (taking 500 team gold away isn't going to solve snowballing when the towers are terrible)

If he is so big and bad why does he have a 2% ban rate? Hm? Tell me. I want to know why would you use 4-5 bans on strong people for the current meta then leave out Lee if he is so strong? Maybe its because you realize that he isn't as strong as you want everyone to believe. Maybe you just don't like seeing him played a lot. Well I have seen Jinx/Cait/Vayne almost nonstop. But do I complain? No. Because they tend to make up the most common ADC triangle bot lane. (except when Lucian was king and replaced Vayne and Kalista had her buffs making her the 4th)

LCS is all about versatility. Look at the most common picks. J4, Lee Sin, Caitlyn, Lucian, Ezreal, Thresh, Orrianna, Lissandra, Gnar, Vi, Nunu, Jinx, Janna, Nidalee, Zed. All of them extremely versatile champions allowing for multiple ways to use their kit. They also tend to be higher skill cap picks as well. The pros want something for every situation and they figure out what they need to be able to adapt to the enemy team. Not only in champs, but in items.

Why is it everyone hates Lee?

Pretty much everyone likes the validation that comes from seeing their favorite champion played in pro games. Pretty much nobody likes seeing their favorite champion nerffed. And if nothing else, people tend to get excited about seeing a variety of champions and strategies rather than the same stale thing over and over again.

Lee has been a top pick in tournaments for over a year. Lee hasn't seen much in the way of nerfs - other champions that have only shown their face for 1 tournament have been brutally nerffed (like Veigar). Lee being a solid pick for over a year has prevented variety.

That, and people QQ when the get killed by a champion.

That's probably the root cause for most of the Lee Sin hate.
