I'm Silver and have lost countless times to trolls. Now, before I get chewed out for saying this, keep in mind my norms mmr is a lot higher than silver and on average i play with and against high gold - diamond players.
It just boggles my mind though that despite having such a good mmr in norms, I cant seem to get it in ranked, because when playing with people in ranked i get people way below my mmr. I had an unranked, fresh 30 in my game today who went support and didnt even get sighstone until 30+ minutes in the game, I always pinged mid roaming and our support kept dying to obvious ganks. As the mid laner I had more wards out than our support, and the supp probably went around 1/12/4 by end game.
Whats sad is the thing keeping me in Silver is that I literally cannot win any games, despite going someone really powerful in mid in lower elo (Annie for example), or even my main role, support. People In Silver elo in ranked are honestly so lacking in mechanics, along with awareness and decision making. However, seeing that its like that at higher elo as well from yalls posts, it makes me sad how riot has decided to make ranked mmr this season, I do admit that last season it was a lot worse, (g4 player from last season on my friend list is b5 now). Honestly though I do feel like a bit of balancing to the mmr would be a lot better, they should honestly do it based on the single persons game play rather than the teams they get paired with. I wouldn't mind seeing riot making perhaps a separate way for ranked, where its based on your performance in the game (almost like a solo scoreboard/leaderboard, that isnt determined on rank specifically but perhaps another system? Like maybe youd get points based on objective taking, cs, kills, assists, wards placed, ect depending on your role.) rather than if you get a troll / toxic teammates that would in other scenarios make you lose your lp.
