Pretty sure malz is the kogmaw of the mage update

Meaning he was a failure of an update. Many of the players who enjoyed him hate the changes that were made to him, the people who didn't like him before still don't like him and that number of people have even increased. He lost his niche viability in the jungle and his lane viability took a hit for that. His lane performance became so poor that the best viable option was to migrate and invade the support role and the targeted nerf for that not only took away that last remaining speck of hope for that role but completely gutted the ability for him to function in midlane.

Frankly he needs his kit reverted. And since you like to say you don't like him being a one shot wonder with the ult alone if it is off cooldown (coughSyndra cough). Take an axe to the base damage and ratio of the preupdate ult and add a damage amp so he has to full combo to net a kill. Similar idea can be done with the old voidling passive with his skills. Nerf the damage of his base skills but allow each cast to summon a voidling instead of every 3. Sucks the the art department would have to have some of the work removed with the loss of the stupid shield idea, but that was/is the fault of the roster update team that decided to put that in his kit in the first place.

I'd rather him keep the old voidlings on every 4th cast. The new squishy voidlings die way too easily.

Besides his Q i say revert everything else

You mean the refresh?

Hell i'd say revert that even. Unless you're going to like make it deal 50% less damage to champions or something, so that he can still farm properly.

I like the mechanic, but if it means his E still losing the 100 base damage then sure remove it. But the silence nerf has to stay it was a bit op back then

Well it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. They seriously buffed the animation speed of the Q in the MYMU, so it's much easier to land now. Before the small hit box and slow windup kinda justified the duration.

the cast time was removed before it was extremely easy to dodge malz Q, they made his Q instant while keeping the delay

which makes malz also able to cast Q while moving right now

No?

Before rework his Q had a 0,25 cast time where he couldn't move and a 0,5-0,6 seconds of delay before it would hit where he could move.

Now it has a 0,5 seconds cast time in which Malzahar can't move.

people actualy liked the new kog, riot just couldnt balance around him.

not to mention scripters abused the shit out of his mechanics and inflated his winrate hugely

They liked him but not as much as old kog

They also mentioned that they didnt like that KogMaw went from a hyper carry to a 1-2 power spike early game monster.

They issue was that people liked him because he was busted x)

He could melt anything in 5 shots in the time it took another adc to fire 2.

He didn't become a support because he is bad mid.

He became support because when you press r on the enemy adc, they die before the end of the ult.

And he is bad mid, his shield takes too long to refresh so any long range mage has a field day laning against him.

And nearly all of his damage early-mid comes from voidlings, if those are somehow stopped he becomes unable to do anything meaning that in teamfights any AOE renders him nearly powerless. I know because i tried :c I used to play old malza as a counter to assassins and yasuo and for his good teamfighting but current one relies on voidlings that die instantly and a shield that block 1 attack of any source which honestly rarely helps.

I want the old one back, a lot :(

The Voidlings are the reason why he works as a support and doesn't work mid. Support he can save them to harass his opponents, but mid he has to use them to farm and they die too easily to be effective at that. At least right after the Mage Update he could still farm mid because the Voidlings would multiply off of minion kills. That made it so it wasn't so easy to stop Malz from farming.

Reliance on voidlings and then nerfing the voidlings was never a good idea x)

And his current passive causes him to gain a purple-ish barrier that discolors any skin besides his base one, i used to like shadow prince but i can barely tell the difference between it with his passive up and his base look :(

Riot whyyy.

Looknook1 votes

He has a couple of cool skins, it's just too bad you can't see any of them. The only one without a purple ball around is snow day and they refused to change the shadow prince skin even though it was always mostly gold. Now it's just mostly purple. Lulu would love it.

Says alot about the state of support that people think malz moving to bot lane is a sign of failure

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

To be honest just keep his current ultimate and revert everything else and he'd be fine imo.

Kog'Maw had a low play rate though. Malzahar has had a consistent play rate.

Funny you mention her.

1_._ She's on the same boat as Malzahar, but her change was reverted. 2_._ She has 3 abilities that are actually useful on their own. 3_._ If you think she is an ult bot, then you are just biased and haven't even played her.

Edit: Preliminary check of your profile confirms my assumptions.

I enjoyed Malz's Old passive where if you stacked CDR you could get more Voidlings out that do damage, and I like the new ult because of the Void area beneath the player that also does AOE damage, What I don't like is his New W and his Passive. They feel lazy.

Difference is Old malz was cancer and new malz is cancer too. Old Kog wasn't, on hit kog was.
