can we have our mana pots back?

AirKingNeo4 votes

If we nerf them a bit, sure.

OhZenny17 votes

I think that fountain should refill your mana immediately so you dont have to wait 10+ sec in base to have max mana. Right now, the nonresource/energy champions just have to wait for hp.

Dealth5 votes

which recovers at the same rate as mana

Knalxz2 votes

I thought energy instantly refilled when you went back? I wouldn't know haven't played an energy based champion in awhile but I recall that being a thing before, intentional or not.

BladeSteel5 votes

Even if it does, the highest energy a champion has is 400. mana gets much, much higher. And energy recovers faster outside of the fountain, so all they have to wait for is health and then they can leave since they'll be full energy by the time they get back to lane/jg/whatever.

DeathBot6663 votes

I think he meant that health regens the same rate as mana.

Which I'm pretty sure it doesn't, but that's what I read his post to mean.

kile1472 votes

It does, but mana users tend to have lots of mana (sometimes even more than health) and mana is usually lower than your health when you back, because you back when you are oom, and you die when you run out of health.

Dealth1 votes

This guy wants mana potions back because it takes a couple of seconds to restore mana when you recall? What about the fact that you recalled and have to go back to lane? But I'm the one downvoted for stating a true fact (health regens at the same rate as mana)

And people wonder why Riot never listens to the boards..

DeathBot6661 votes

No. He wants mana potions back because they allowed for more sustain early levels against mana less/other resources champions like Gnar Renekton and Zed to name a few.

the thing about recalling was completely off topic, and addressed something ELSE about being a champion who builds mana like Ryze or Cassiopeia

Need Gold 4 Tent1 votes

It doesn't, but in the 8 seconds it takes for you to recall, any energy you spent would've regen'd back up anyway so when you touch down at the fountain you'd have full energy.

Knalxz1 votes

Oh, that does make sense.

Dolasaur2 votes

You get 50 energy per 5 seconds, so 80 over 8. So for most energy champs, that's reasonably close to full. If Kennen wants to teleport into a fight (and get the extra 45 energy from 4.5s teleport), he'll at least have enough energy for his 3 AoE moves.

But Shen has 400 max, the same regen, his Q costs 140-100 energy, and his E costs 180. His ult costs 0 and takes 3 seconds to channel. So if Shen starts recalling with 0 energy and then needs to ult immediately, he'd be 70 energy short of using his taunt (needing an extra 7 seconds of waiting around).

So it wouldn't make too much of a difference for most energy users, I agree. Not quite trivial for Shen, though.

Even if it did it wouldn't really matter since energy champs gets their energy bar back within 5 seconds anyways.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

That's kind of the point of energy/manaless champs...they are not barred by a "nonreplenishable" resource. Manaless champs are limited by cooldowns, and energy champs are limited by their MAXIMUM energy (and manipulation of energy via energy-replenishing effects).

Sorakas Pantheon1 votes

Honestly it would be better than item 2033 and flask that was last season also if you had not noticed mana regen has been getting nerfed for these past seasons, like we can all say that pots where the best mostly for Pantheon but other than that or the fact that i main him

but once they where removed we got flask ok the mana regen was nerfed and not much people really cared about the health regen that it gave still it was a good item nonetheless then nerfed again by flask being removed in place for item 2033 me and a lot of other people really don't care about the Touch of Corruption passive we only get the item to sustain our mana hungry abilities hell not many people get item 2033 just champions that are mana hungry like Pantheon or Old and new Yorick and even Urgot

I liked the pink/yellow trinket upgrades :\

AirKingNeo4 votes

I like yellow trinkets having lower cooldowns too.

TheSingularity7 votes

I miss them so much..... So what if low elo people didn't buy them (original reason for ditching them). They don't even upgrade them now... FOR FREE! Let alone use the freakin free periodic wards they have.

I actually loved being the ward bitch in the jungle. Helpen out the support when skanks were too greedy to get a pink, lighting up the jungle with my ancient golem+upgraded yellow trinket, keepin drag baron and a part of the enemies jungle warded and clearing the pesky wards of the enemy. And most of all, improving and carrying games with them. Having to actually PAY for trinkets, green wards and at the time, limited duration pink wards made me think about what I was doing with them, where I was placing them and how frequently I did so.

So I found the sweet spots. 2 crevices in baron and dragon pit (1 each) in which pinks are almost invisible in the wall. And safe/effective ward spots in the enemies jungle so I'd always know where they were.

Now? Now there's this stupid ward limit. That not only doesn't encourage non supports to ward. But it just makes their own as well as my job that much freaking harder. Now there's no pink trinket. So I'm forced to place a pink in a safe zone so that I don't have to sacrifice an item slot. And it forces meh to go sweeper, when I'd much rather plain old yellow.

No green wards. What if I don't want a freaking sightstone? What if I just want to stock up so I'm ready for a safe drag?

.

Oh... even better. Riot removes green wards because they allowed pro play to be played passively around vision. Which riot viewed as "stale". Look at what we have here this season, a champion with 2 spells that grant info and vision becomes pick or ban (rek sai). Her subs either have similar tools (nidalee) or the ability to face check (gragas/elise(w)).These 4 champs, wether they were picked or banned appeared in almost every game.

AND PROS KEPT PLAYING THE SAME WAY! Without green wards, awesome trinkets and with a ward cap Around vision, too scared to act without it. The only people riot hurt with these changes, that they forced to play differently were the mechanically unskilled low elo players like myself who's play styles revolved around vision control.

I liked the pink/yellow trinket upgrades :\

I always used to use the yellow pink ward trinket, as it'd give you a pink ward that you could reposition for free every few minutes.

"tier 3 boots"? You mean boot enchantments, right?

I gave you an upvote to balance out that negative, bc you are correct. Lol

Thanks bro, I've just never heard them be called tier 3 boots before.

mana pots pls

RisenDarkKnight5 votes

I'm really glad Riot removed them to be honest. It makes hitting skillshots late game way easier than when every person just bought alacrity and had 15 more movespeed. Sure, a few champs bought distortion instead, but you can get that from Insight mastery + lucidity boots now anyway.

It just makes playing a skillshot based champ really frustrating when everyone has more movespeed, in comparison to ADCs or champs with targeted abilities.

Just in general, adding more movespeed to everyone in the game makes it less fun for skillshot casters. That's why I stopped playing Smite: everyone just has too much movespeed in that game (ranged autoattacks are skillshots in that game too).

TheSingularity7 votes

While I agree to an extent. There is still the issue of people picking the least shit pair of boots as opposed to the best pair (like how alacrity wasn't anything special, every other enchant was simply shit) In that the whole reason swifties were so popular pre nerf, was that almost every other boot simply sucked ass.

Tabi are niche af and drop off the second you group against casters.

Mercs are less than ideal for a tank (could have tabi/swifties) as cc isn't a big issue. But if a squishy is hit with cc potent enough to require them, they're probably dead anyway.

Mobies: they're mostly fine. But I'd prefer to have their bonus ms dropped by 10-20 and the base increased by the same amount (so they feel better on non supports, and less shit overall)

Swifties: they simply serve as better feeling mobies

Lucidity, beserkers and sorc shoes seem fine IMO. Strong, speedy and priced accordingly.

And the more prominent unbalance of slows (rylais/mallet): to speed. They plan on fixing this and I hope it opens up room to tinker with boots

Pierce The Veal3 votes

Seriously at this point it's 55 ms and slow reduction that we're getting. They're not really much better than the other boots.

theArtifacts3 votes

Simple answer is No.

They got rid of them to cut back some of the mobility creep. Putting them back in would increase mobility.

Robert Smith2 votes

They wanted data to see if champions needed ms nerfs. They couldn't do this with the tier 3 boots being out

Actually:

"It’s possible that we’ll revisit the concept of boot enchants in the future, but only after we find ways for it help dodge mobility creep - not enforce it."

bring back green wards too, ffs

DaSarcasticGuy2 votes

Can we get tier 3 boots/ boot enchantments that don't affect move speed? Maybe a damage upgrade, a defense upgrade, and a tenacity upgrade. Hell you could split them up. So an AP one, an AD one, AS one, an armor one, MR one, health one, tenacity one, hell an out of combat movement one. The numbers don't have to be that high, just something to make the slot more efficient.

SwiftKitten882 votes

please no...

last thing i need to champ like Udyr and Volibear running at my face with t3 boots at 10 min. when i only have t1 boots.

you shouldn't have to force every enemy champ in the game to rush t2 boots or waste a flash every time their jungler shows his face in lane.

they don't even NEED to gank.. all they need to do is get T3 boots.. and force your flash enough time to make you by t2 boots and then the enemy now has a 1k gold lead advantage in lane because they can build straight damage...

NO, do NOT bring t3 boots back. and if they ARE going to come back.. put a time or lvl requirement on them (likeitem 3364 and item 3363 have

Joseph Gladstone1 votes

hope so

Probably not. We have cloud drake and additional MS screws over skillshot based champions late game.

Everyone did, that was the problem unfortunately.

I just want Homeguard to be a tier 3 upgrade again. This was such a heavy nerf for Rammus imo because he had an insanely great rollout with mobility boots + homeguard. Now he needs to wait 20 minutes to do that which is where laning phase is almost always over already.

Shadow Hazard1 votes

In the spirit of the many recent board post of bmb item post. An idea could be to make tier 3's a way to essentially add a 3rd summoner spell
