This is the Reason Why So Many Mid Laners Are Frustrated With Ahri

Any other champion would have been dead if they made such a mistake like that, but no, not Ahri.

I think you mean
"This is why so many people are frustrated with Shaco"
I mean, it was an outplay. Unless you are trying to be funny, then my bad, because too many people on these boards hate Shaco and Zed more than shit like Ahri.
Ahri did outplay him I guess... but I would say it is more breaking even.
All that video does is show us why Shaco is stupid lol.
If placed in the right hands.
It does fail to show how Ahri is as this title suggests: Frustrating.
I mean, if Ahri ISN'T more nimble and safe than other mage champions with her ult up, Ahri would need damage buffs, and I know no one wants that so sit down.
I would be okay with that. Just let me kill her. This brings her skill floor up because she actually has to commit to a kill.
Then people would cry that there's no counter-play to being deleted in an blink of an eye from 1k+ range.
The point is that Ahri's game play is safer, but it's harder to land kills with. Other mages find it simpler to kill than it is to stay alive. Ahri is more of the other direction. That isn't a bad thing. She may need nerfs, but a lot of the hoopla on the boards don't really get what's good or bad about her design to begin with.
No many other mid laners would've survived including champions like Leblanc, Fizz, Zed etc... It's not like she killed both the clone and the real one. She only managed to burst the clone and then run away.
Yet, who would have had a much bigger chance of dying, Ahri or Fizz? Ahri or Zed? Remember, those two are melee, and Shaco could have easily reached for them. Ahri actually went very closely to Shaco, and that is a mistake. Yet she couldn't be punished because it was Ahri. If Orianna got too close, she would have died. Syndra, too.
Ori and Syndra aren't assassins or semi-assassins. Of course they'd die if they didn't burst or shake off Shaco first. Ahri is mainly a mage, but partly an assassin, thus her high mobility, which is paid for in damage.
I can agree.
But do you think it is not a problem that Shaco was 1v3/4 in that. I know he had the level lead so he was probably fed ike crazy, but it is hard to complain I couldn't kill all 4 guys (or 3.5).
It could have been Urgot, I don't care. If Ahri made that grave of a mistake, she should die for it.
I agree, I wish Shaco couldn't poof away. I wish EKko coudn't back and heal. If your only complaint is she has three charges and they don't, sure I can still say it is a problem. But her dash seems far less obnoxious than the other two champions.
I'm okay with Ahri having those 3 charges as long as she has to commit for a kill, not just back out because she makes a mistake.
Well seeing how Ahri is a Mage that has to engage in close range, that is a difference of game play. She HAS to because ult and W are close range abilities and her E is a pick.
Ahri is a Risk Reward Mage, Ala the secondary assassin class (I wouldn't consider it a high risk, just a risk.)
But unlike an Assassin, she still is a mage and can get out if she fears the situation. That is why it is considered a good gank if Ahri is forced to used her ult to escape a gank.
However, Ahri having those two playstyles is frustrating to play against. She combines two playstyles that, essentially, contradicts each other while being frustrating to play against with compensation being "lower damage".
No. It is the difference between early game and mid to late game.
Early game Ahri plays like mage using her Q. She has the weakness then of having a high mana cost in relation to her mana pool.
Mid game Ahri is played depending on her ult. If she has her ult up, she dives in like an assassin, then backs off. No ult means Mage all the way.
Late game Ahri, in team fights, is dive in Ahri. It is better to flash to get out of a situation then to ult, seeing how nice her target AOE is with her ult and W and is needed for when a team fight breaks out.
This is all assuming that she is not behind or ahead and snowball but just in the right spot in a ideal tank, fighter, mage, marksmen, support team and the such.
It does not contradict, it evolves. Usually mages stay where they are as back line champs dealing out magic damage from a range but Ahri evolves to get closer-- ala the risk reward I mentioned.
I do not know what you mean by "lower damage" unless you are referring to her W and E, I fail to understand what you mean, probably because you don't play her and thus you are alien to me. (No insult intended).
Ahri is probably one of the least aggressive, in terms of kit, of all mages. Ahri only has her Q to poke and she cannot spam that ability a lot. Her E is easy to read because it is first meaning minions get in the way. Her W is too small of a range. Compared to other mages including but not limited to Cass, Xerath, Ziggs, Taliyah, Brand, Syndra, Annie and Viktor have at least two abilities that they can use to harass without too much consideration of the minion wave.
I mean, I respect the fact you are saying she is frustrating to play against and not broken, op, whatever, so will try to my best to show the light of this. That also means it is a personal thing. As long as you do not say she is broken, we will be good.
To inexperience Ahri players, yes, the transition can be weird but she does have it. Again, this assuming she is not ahead, behind, or team composition on either team is weird.
This guy gets it.
Ahri's mana usage early compared to Ziggs, Lux, Syndra is dumb, If at any point she uses all 3 of her abilities during the initial lane phase shes just oom, People complain she's safe, and she is, but if she plays safe she won't be killing you because she needs the aggressive part of her kit to do that. Assuming you don't go overly aggro on her giving her a free Charm Orb Fox Fire combo.
LB's Distortion into Mimic Distortion can pretty much cover just as much ground as Ahri's Spirit Rush, except she can blink back to her points if she'd like. It's also on a way shorter CD. Ahri's mobility comes from her ult, she should get a good amount from considering she can only use it once a min or two. Where as every other Assassin, and a good deal of other champions have there dashes/blinks on base abilities, but they can't cover as much ground.
Like LB, Ahri has to put herself into the fray to do most her damage, she needs her ult to do that, when its done she's really just a weakish Caster Mage.
Ahri's wave clear compared to basically every other true caster mage is weaker. Ahri's mobility is more conditional then any other assassin. Ahri's skills are two skill shots (one needs to hit both ways) and two AI targeted.
We're only complaining about Ahri because everyone else has received nerfs, This happens every patch, a new champ is OP, well duh, when you nerf someone else someone has to rise up to take the torch, this game can not and will not ever be truly balanced.
Nobody?

I mean I would have to disagree? She used 2 ult charges offensively. That leaves no more than a regular flash or dash distance to get away? Also its not like she killed him and got out so it's not like the damage is broken either.. I am not really sure what you're trying to say here. Seems like a pretty average play with nothing special there.. If shaco wanted to chase her down he could have waited for his Q to come off CD considering that would (obviously) take less time than Ahri's ult to come back. Sounds like another hater on the band wagon to me.
