Remove collision from allied melee and caster minions.

Keep collision on cannon, super, bannered, and enemy minions.

Now it's impossible to deny cannon minions, and probably unreasonable to try to continuously deny normal cs. The only time creep block would be a problem is if you're overwhelmed by super minions or diving their full creep wave, which makes thematic sense anyway.

Report Minions for assisting the enemy team!

I'm all for this idea. It definately makes sense for enemy creeps to block you but not your own. For your own creeps to block you and cause your death, whose team are they really on?

2 reasons I am against this:

  1. It would completely change the way skill shots would have to be viewed. They would be harder to land if your opponent can sit inside their minions that don't block them and can freely slide back and forth within them. (Note this is for skills hits that hit first enemy, including minions)

  2. I think allied minions would set up too much of a pick potential where you are free to move through them while the enemy cannot. The extra escape it gives someone by being able to cut through center, while the opponent has to go around would make ganks and chase down kills much harder.

Graves well he's standing inside a minion Graves looks like I'm done

Minion block is getting ridiculous this season. If you are a melee champion you have to choose between farming with your auto attacks or being able to dodge skill shots. Because if you ever get in the middle of your own wave to last hit a minion you're not getting out of there that quickly.

And the only one i suppose. Once played it and i thought the same "I might stick with this champion only cause of the passive itself"

Oh yeah Fizz too.

What I'm upset about is they removed it from Hecarim, who has a big ass model and clips minions super fucking easily.

Also the only champion I have three different skins for.

It's the worst when you die because of an allied minion block...especially when you could've survived if it weren't for that creep block.

I don't get what's with all the hate for minion block these days. It's not a new mechanic it's been here for ages so why bring it up now? And this won't solve anything as cannons are worth like 2 minions and only appear everywhere 3 waves so you can still deny 2 waves and a half by bringing ranged champs top/mid, Hecarim top will destroy, Riven will probably gain an increase of popularity and Yasuo would have a field day as he can now walk through 2 minion waves instead of dashing through 1 and walking around the other.

Eh, it's more of a tilt factor than an actual problem.

When you get blocked in by minions and take an extra hit, or miss 3 CS, it feels like you missed the minions because of what's effectively RNG. Though RNG isn't literally correct, randomness in terms of complex minion ai.

Starfish H1 votes

I guess but I really don't get the hate and sudden need for a update in coding because a few people get tilted by something that happens once every 10 matches. I've never really had a problem with minion block and this is coming from a Blitzcrank main.

Aazzlano1 votes

lol a Blitz main would benefit the most from this. Literally of all champions in the game, I think Blitz benefits the MOST out of enemies not being able to walk through their own minions.

Starfish H1 votes

Honestly if minion block didn't exist Blitz would just be allowed to go more ham and since Lucian would benefit from no minion block and so would Caitlyn. Blitzcranks who play him a lot wouldn't start with a hook but with a W-E and then hook. This means a Caitlyn could just be poking away and Lucian would just Q while Blitz stands in a bush until they get low then W-E. Then wait till they run away then Q.

Aazzlano1 votes

What are you talking about? We are talking about allied minion block, not enemy minion block.

Starfish H1 votes

Yeah if allied minion clock didn't exists poke champion would reign supreme and cause all in champs like blitz, thresh and Naut to easily just all in when their below 50% due to the consequences of minions not being able to get pass enemy minions.

Punkkee1 votes

it's been addressed constantly and incessantly since the beginning of this season, not sure what you're talking about

Starfish H1 votes

Why this season in particular? Why not last season or season 4? It's not new nor a HUGE problem. It's a inconvenience.

Battlecast Sona2 votes

My problem with minion block in League is that it doesn't go both ways. At least in DotA2 if you get blocked in there are a ton of positives for being able to block/be blocked by creeps (lets you control waves easier).

I've always hated that League lets allied minions block you but not the other way around - that's honestly the cause of 90% of the creep block problems, they'll try to path directly through you and just stop, locking you in place.

Llanite2 votes

Then how would you buff champions whose spells only affect first unit hit?

Ryze Ahri Ashe DrMundo Ezreal Kennen

You're not supposed to move through allied minions. Period.

Tobias Brackner2 votes

git gud

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

No. If you had the ability to move through your own minions at will, barring those you listed, than you'd be fucking over every skillshot reliant champion whose skillshot doesn't go through minions. People would be able to hide in the minion wave, instead of actually exposing themselves, and not have to worry about positioning at all.

The 2nd Horseman1 votes

Weren't the minions programmed to get out of your way before?

OutstandingSound1 votes

They are getting in my ass right now -.- "Oh I see that you've got a candy stuck up your arse, let me fuck your pathing and follow that booty."

Zaryelle1 votes

I'm fine with working around minion collision as part of mechanics except for some seriously glitchy moments where you get 'stuck' in minions or stuck in the wall by minions or the pathing chooses a terrible path because minions make you walk around a weird path that causes you to take turret hits /extra hits from enemy etc. and the only way to fix this is probably by removing allied minion collision altogether.

KooldudeFood1 votes

They'll have to do things to passives and skills that provide unit collision ignore, since it won't have much use.

Apollogy1 votes

You can actually use the collisions with your own allied minions for laning. It helps you move the minions before they reach lane so you can reposition the wave in the lane or even pull the enemy wave towards yours by slowing down your own minions.

Removing creep block from our own minions would negate an entire mechanic in league... Not really worth it... If they just find a way to fix creep block, that'd be better.
